Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PhilippinesThe only thing was that someone stole our container with cheese and the management of the accommodation said that it is not their responsibility as the kitchen is a shared area. Even if your food or stuff is properly labeled, don't be assured that noone will touch it. The cheese costed like a Euro and the container was small but it was gone anyways. There are also a lot of other reviews saying something negative about this place but we had a good stay until the missing cheese and container. Would we stay there again? YES. Would we leave anything anywhere outside of our room? NO.
Location is perfect for exploring Lisbon. It is in a party area but also very local. You can easily find good options for food better than the main area for tourists. The room we got was on the first floor which is good if you have big luggages. There is no lift so request for a lower room if you book this place. It is clean and comfortable. Don't expect airconditioning but there is a fan in our room which can cool down the room, though slowly. Just open the balcony door and you can get cool air in THOUGH you also get the noise. It pretty close to the Pink Street that is always busy. Expect loud music and shouting and maybe fighting outside the building. The bathroom was shared (we stayed in Room 1) but it was clean when we stayed as there were not so many guests. There are only 4 rooms in the flat and some rooms get their own toilet/shower. It was also pretty affordable when we booked it (60EUR/night).

PortugalIt is a noisy location, ideal for parties. Ours was a last minute booking and we were limited for choice.
The double glazing was most welcome, it shut out the noise from the streets. the private bathroom was also welcomed.

LuxembourgIt was not well ventilated - we couldn't open the window and all that we could rely on was a fan we put on a shelf and let running all night. The bathroom was even worse, humid and warm. It was also quite noisy, since we have been on the first floor and the accommodation is located in the main nightlife & bar area.
The overall check-in experience was really good. Further, the location was very convenient - close to the water, close to the metro and connecting buses, we could also comfortably walk to the city. Many nice restaurants, cafes and sights in close proximity.

SwitzerlandThere were a few challenges. The reception wasn’t available when we arrived, so we had to wait about 15 minutes for instructions via WhatsApp. The bathroom door was tricky to open and close, and there was an unpleasant smell from the sewerage. Also, the hot water was inconsistent, which made showering chilly. The fridge didn’t work properly and froze some of our food. Additionally, the noise from the neighbors could be noticeable at times.
We had a three-night stay in these apartments and overall enjoyed our time in Lisbon. The location is great—close to everything, making it easy to explore the city. The bed was comfortable, and the Wi-Fi worked well, which was a plus.

RomaniaQuite thin walls and you can hear the neighbors, a little uncomfortable to have the private bathroom separate from the bedroom, also not very clean kitchen and bathroom
Great location, in the center of Lisbon, has heating, as well as sort of a little balcony with windows (which is quite unusual for Portugal), the common kitchen area has enough dishes, as well as tea and coffee

GermanyWhen we arrived, the toilet was clogged, and we contacted them to inform. However, they insinuated that it was our fault. The bathroom was outside the room and open to anyone who wanted to use it, so it doesn’t make sense to blame anyone.
The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was excellent—close to two train stations, well-connected, and easy to access.

ItalyWhen we entered the building, we understood that the apartment was located on the second floor. The entrance door of the apartment was ruined, and we had to keep it open all night. However, there was a lock for the room, but it is mandatory to repair the door for the security of guests.
The room was immaculate and comfortable, the shared bath was clean and quite big. The location is very handy close to the seaside and not far from the center, on the other hand, it is located in an area with nice nightlife to have fun.

Greecewe booked a room with a private bathroom. In the room the window was broken and we asked for a change. They changed us to a new room with a window but not a private toilet, they said we will communicate about the extra costs but unfortunately they never come back even if we ask twice. Next day was another receptionist and was not letting us enter because "we were not in the system". Aparently they let us in and we continued our trip.
It has a nice kitchen for everyone, the cleaning stuff was always polite. Central appartment

BelgiumThe linen and towels weren’t super clean. The bathrooms were occupied all the time because everyone in the building was sharing 2 bathrooms. The doors were very loud so I woke up several times.
The location is very nice, close to the metro and a lot of restaurants nearby.

SwitzerlandThere are two showers on the floor for several rooms, but one was closed forever, and the other is often occupied by neighbors. Since the toilet and shower are together, it is impossible to go to the toilet if someone takes a long time in the shower. There is a kitchen on the floor, but it is not equipped, except for a kettle.
Typical Lisbon guesthouse on the upper floors of an old building without an elevator. Basic comfort only for sleeping. Location is good, if need this part of the city.
