How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIt was quite noisy outside…
The smell of the apartment, lack of communication with the hosts, no AC but ventilator and the noise of the party life outside. There were people outside singing, talking, loud music and disco going around quite below us. The apartment is in the first floor, so sadly you can hear everything. But for the price itself, it was ok to have a bed.

Verified reviewThe location is good in terms to get everywhere in the city centre. The place is super nice, easy to get in, clean and vibrant
the nearby pink street is screaming all the night, and the same time you need to open the window because you need the air for breathing… the fan is doing its best but it’s not the solution unfortunately

It’s not true to the pictures, I booked a room with private bathroom however upon arrival we had a shared bathroom, the room was a boiling hot and only had a tiny fan not even working properly, the bed was really hard and under the mattress it was not properly clean.

Verified reviewLocation is perfect for exploring Lisbon. It is in a party area but also very local. You can easily find good options for food better than the main area for tourists. The room we got was on the first floor which is good if you have big luggages. There is no lift so request for a lower room if you book this place. It is clean and comfortable. Don't expect airconditioning but there is a fan in our room which can cool down the room, though slowly. Just open the balcony door and you can get cool air in THOUGH you also get the noise. It pretty close to the Pink Street that is always busy. Expect loud music and shouting and maybe fighting outside the building. The bathroom was shared (we stayed in Room 1) but it was clean when we stayed as there were not so many guests. There are only 4 rooms in the flat and some rooms get their own toilet/shower. It was also pretty affordable when we booked it (60EUR/night).
The only thing was that someone stole our container with cheese and the management of the accommodation said that it is not their responsibility as the kitchen is a shared area. Even if your food or stuff is properly labeled, don't be assured that noone will touch it. The cheese costed like a Euro and the container was small but it was gone anyways. There are also a lot of other reviews saying something negative about this place but we had a good stay until the missing cheese and container. Would we stay there again? YES. Would we leave anything anywhere outside of our room? NO.

It is a noisy location, ideal for parties. Ours was a last minute booking and we were limited for choice.

Verified reviewThe overall check-in experience was really good. Further, the location was very convenient - close to the water, close to the metro and connecting buses, we could also comfortably walk to the city. Many nice restaurants, cafes and sights in close proximity.
It was not well ventilated - we couldn't open the window and all that we could rely on was a fan we put on a shelf and let running all night. The bathroom was even worse, humid and warm. It was also quite noisy, since we have been on the first floor and the accommodation is located in the main nightlife & bar area.

Verified reviewThe only positives were the wide and comfortable bed. I definitely don't recommend this place unless your goal is to spend the whole night on the street near Pink Street doing drugs.
I couldn't sleep the whole night. The windows are so poorly sealed that it feels like they're wide open. You can clearly hear all the noise from outside. There was a huge party right under the windows, going on all night. Crowds of people everywhere, and from 3 a.m. groups of drugged individuals were running around, bothering others, and throwing glass bottles at each other. Ambulances kept coming throughout the night. It's a terrible and unsafe location. I was afraid to leave for my morning bus. The check-in instructions were absurd. I received a code to enter the building and get a key from a box, but the instructions were so unclear that two other tourists and I couldn't even get through the main door. Inside, there was a person waiting at reception anyway, so what's the point of these codes? The receptionist was incompetent—I asked three times for an invoice and still haven't received it. He also made me wait because he preferred chatting with his colleague instead of checking me in. The whole apartment smells bad, like dampness and old furniture. The wooden floor was dirty and pieces of it were coming off. After two minutes, my white socks were ruined. The price was higher than a much better room in a nicer area with breakfast included, where I stayed right after arriving in Lisbon. Moreover, even communication with the property was unpleasant—I received messages warning me not to even think about leaving my luggage before or after check-in. While other places offer this service proactively and free of charge, here you have to use paid luggage storage, costing an extra 7-10 euros.

Verified reviewThe only good thing was the location, and the fact that they changed the very thin and old towels we were given.
Very small bed for two people, old amenities and the bathroom was a nightmare. It smelt of sues, there was no windows nor mechanical ventilation to suck the air. The shower door was broken, and replaced by a dirty curtain that was doing half the job. Overall, a bad experience with the bathroom and the seize of the bed. The rest was sufficient.

The room I booked was listed as having a private bathroom, however, although the bathroom could only be used by me and my partner using a key, you had to leave your room and cross the corridor to use the bathroom and shower facilities, this should have been clear at the time of booking. The shower facilities were extremely poor, not properly functioning. Our main issue is that other guests made several attempts to enter our room which made us feel very uncomfortable and when my partner was there I felt unsafe in my own room. Overall, a very disappointing stay

I recently stayed at this hotel, and I can say it was a terrible experience. While I was sleeping in my room, someone stole my personal belongings, including my backpack and phone. The most shocking part is that no one seemed to genuinely care about solving the problem. Despite reporting the incident to the reception immediately, the response was completely inadequate and superficial. There was no real assistance or proper investigation. It was a theft that really left me shaken, and the hotel management did very little or nothing to address the situation. I would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone who wants to feel safe and treated with respect.

Verified reviewWe had a three-night stay in these apartments and overall enjoyed our time in Lisbon. The location is great—close to everything, making it easy to explore the city. The bed was comfortable, and the Wi-Fi worked well, which was a plus.
There were a few challenges. The reception wasn’t available when we arrived, so we had to wait about 15 minutes for instructions via WhatsApp. The bathroom door was tricky to open and close, and there was an unpleasant smell from the sewerage. Also, the hot water was inconsistent, which made showering chilly. The fridge didn’t work properly and froze some of our food. Additionally, the noise from the neighbors could be noticeable at times.
