Having a separate kettle & having a table rather than the trunk for the kitchen table

Close to centre. Light, bright comfortable. Clean, modern. An historic property with lots of character. Loved the top balcony - bean bags & swing chairs looking out over valley, & getting afternoon breeze!

We stayed as a large family group the night before visiting Magikland and we were so pleased with our choice! The rooms were clean and comfortable. The AC was fantastic and provided much needed respite from the heat!

The fact that we had to leave, but we'll surely be back!

We booked as a place to stay while our kid competing in basketball tournament in a nearby town... but what a delightful stay - we didn't want to leave! Exquisitely restored historical mansion in the very centre of Penafiel! We were here during the white nights celebration and it was super convenient as the festival was within close reach yet it was quiet on the hotel's street. We absolutely loved the atmosphere! Much thanks to Marianna who provided us with warm welcome and even got our room ready ahead of check in time.

The ac could not be adjusted and the church bell rang very loudly

The only thing I didn't like was the fact that it was next to the church. The bells started playing around 8 am, I believe. The elevator was very slow but this was just a detail

The church was incredible, though some guests might be sensitive to the bells that chime throughout the night and morning. The bed was a bit firm, but not a major issue. Parking was a bit tricky and took some time to find a spot. Overall, these were minor things in an otherwise great stay.

We loved the terrace bathtub and thoroughly enjoyed a late-night soak. The historic church across the street provided a beautiful focal point and added to the charm of our stay. We will definitely be coming back!

Not so much dislike..but don't arrive one minute before 4pm as you won't get in past the electronic door locks, parking is hit and miss

you can hear the other rooms and people walking on other floors, but there's not much that can be done about it. a bidet would have been nice.

everything was tidy and clean. the room disposition is clever and the space is well used. the ac worked properly. we were lucky to find a parking space right in front of the property. and the complimentary sweets were a nice touch. good value for money!

Unfortunately we could hear quite well the couple from another room.

I loved the house a mix of modern and old times combines. The bed was wonderful to sleep, very comfortable! The view with the church was incredible.

The church bell goes off regularly and its right opposite the room. Not an issue for me personally but i think they should make this clear. You also cannot access the building until 4pm so if you arrive early there is no lobby or staff to receive you. Fortunately Penafiel high street is very close and there are lots of cute cafes

The bedsheets had a small stain and several hairs. The room had a door that connected to another room. We could hear everything the people in the other room said.

Unfortunately with the church opposite I didn't get much sleep due to the chiming of the bells. I'm not an early riser and I'm a light sleeper so the bells were an issue for me.

Shower holder needs repairing. Church bells outside ring all night, struggled to sleep. No replenishment of coffee when asked, despite having to book an additional night. pillows very uncomfortable

Unfortunately, we kept being given the wrong code for the main door, the sink in our room didn't drain properly, there weren't enough towels or proper functional furniture in the bedroom. Could hear the street noises and other bedrooms on that floor quite clearly. The main problem was the lack of effective blinds or curtains. Weirdly they thought of putting a bathtub on the terrace

The building is beautiful and the view is incredible.
