How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The property was exactly as advertised. Great location close to the center of historic Lisbon. Steps from the Santa justa elevator.

Great location Spacious Apt (CH6) with high ceiling Tastefully furnished Very clean Clear instructions about check-in / check out. Possibility to store luggage for few hours in their office after the check out was an added value. Helpful staff

I cannot think of anything at this time.
I could not have picked a better place to stay in Lisbon. First, the apartment was perfect and was very well equipped. The management company employees were very friendly and most helpful. And the location was excellent, just steps from everything and easy uber pick up points on each end of the short street. Also, the soundproof windows worked very well. I highly recommend.

Some issues with the digital lock. However the staff were super helpful in arranging for an alternative.
Great location. Right in the heart of the city. Right next to Santa Justa elevator. The neighborhood was active till late night. Lots of sights in walking distance.

The location is superb - right in the heart of all attractions (everything except Belem is in walking distance). Very close to a supermarket (Pingo doce), to lots of restaurants, shops and the public transportation (metro, trams, buses). There is an elevator in the building, and also an access to the stairs leading to the Carmo convent from the 3rd floor of the building (very convenient). The apartment was very, clean, comfortable, well-maintained and functional. The kitchen was well equipped, and there were few nice touches that we've appreciated, such as bottled water, coffee and wine provided upon our arrival.

The location was superb and nice and quiet inside the apartment. It was walking distance to the main shopping streets and easy to get to all the main sights that we wanted to see such as the Elevador da Bica, Praca do Commericoand and easy Uber ride to Belem

great communication from start to finish. door entry codes was ideal as there was 7 of us staying in apartment. so no keys to lose and everyone could get in apartment when they wanted too. apartment was in a great location and had everything needed. would highly recommend staying here. Booked a taxi for 1 of the guests that was leaving before us and was all sorted by apartment staff.

Heater & appliances were a little difficult to figure out, but that may have been the language barrier. Street noise was a little loud at night as people left bars but some white noise helped drown that out. The location made up for that with all the other quaint sounds: bells from the church, a flutist playing, whistling garbage man.
Very clean, great beds/bedding, helpful staff on site. Shower was hot, strong & awesome! Easy to get in/out of apt & building. Felt safe the whole time. Great central location to old Lisbon, tram, metro, restaurants, shopping & sites.

No ventilation in the bathrooms, impossible to dry towels, was humid. Not enough mirrors for 6/8 women to get ready!
Excellent location to get to anywhere in Lisbon, right in the centre but comfortable & quiet, well equipped kitchen :-)
