Nothing, there was nothing to complain about. Maybe a couple more towels in the bathroom and some flannels would have been useful.

We thought the staff were very friendly and liked the location of this fun and quirky hotel. The breakfast was very good with a great selection of hot and cold foods and all the staff were helpful and friendly. This hotel has a great vibe and is in a good location for exploring Porto.

Oh, well, the wallpaper in the elevator is slightly peeling off, the grass could be real in the garden and the people outside could just stay at home and not shout all night (closed windows provide excellent soundproofing by the way), but this is me counting the three things I did not “like”. Honestly, this is a great hotel and I will stay again!

I loved this hotel. It’s fun, it’s funky, it’s friendly, it’s comfortable. Loved it! The staff is great, the breakfast is lovely and they offer free 4 o’clock tea, as well as a glass of porto and 10% off food. Clean modern rooms, plenty of space, lovely communal areas. The location is also excellent.

My room didn’t have much of a view.

The staff was attentive. I like the proximity of the hotel to things to do. I also like that they are conscious about not wasting products but offering them upon request. The breakfast buffet had plenty of options and was delicious.

It's the second time I stayed at Chic&Basic and it's seriously my go to place whenever I am in Porto. The staff is the NICEST, everyone is happily serving you and making sure you are having the best experience. The rooms are spacious enough, the balconies amazing to chill at after a whole day of sightseeing and the beds and bedsheets suuuper comfy. The variety at the breakfast (with vegan options available) is amazing and very tasty. The decoration of the hotel itself is amusing. The location is top-notch to walk around the main areas of Porto. I can't recommend this hotel enough!!

Seagulls… they are sooo loud at night, if your room is on the top floor, you need airplugs! but of course it’s not the hotel’s fault! :)

Everything was just perfect, really, this hotel, this team knows how to do this! We booked the top floor terrace room, outside noise was okay there! Extra sweet from the staff that we got presents (wine, cake) during our stay! Breakfast is absolutely perfect, lots of choices. The hotel location is great, the area is packed with nice local restaurants, bars, a bit less tourist-filled!

First of all we loved the people working in the hotel. They were very kind. Rooms are beautifully renovated and spacious. Also the food is perfect! Great breakfast (one of the best i have ever tasted) and dinner was also very good. I say it's a very nice choice for the price tag. 👍

I think the breakfast station could be kept more warm especially the eggs, beans and other warm bits. Otherwise, breakfast was nice and had a decent variety.

The staff were very kind and friendly especially on our arrival. I liked my room and the balcony i had. The garden area was lovely. The receptionist on arrival was very sweet and gave us port and nibbles and gave us some recommendations on a map of places to visit during our stay in Porto. She was very kind and accommodating as were all the staff.

The pool isn't really a pool but a cool decoration. The pub outside of the hotel is super rowdy at night, just something to be aware of.

Awesome and friendly staff. Loved the room. Our room was near the elevator and I was never bothered by the sound. Love the bar in the lobby. Super helpful staff and willingness to hold luggage for you. Great stay.

There were a number of things that were disappointing such as the advertised garden view was not a garden view but more of a building site and roof. We could not use our balcony because of the constant kitchen smells released directly near our room. There was little hanging and storage space for a couple staying for a week. I did report this and the hotel were quick to respond and validated our comments and promised to advertise the room more accurately in the future. Would we stay here again, almost certainly, especially if the balcony wasn't that important and it was a short stay.

Staff were excellent, very helpful and always cheerful. the location is excellent but can get a little busy outside the front door Breakfast was good and constantly topped up. The little treats in the bedroom were a lovely surprise.

No negatives!

Everything! Breakfast was fabulous. Afternoon snacks provided free of charge as was bottled water. The staff kindly changed our room to a Garden Room as it was quieter. Dinner was good and reasonably priced. We are in our 70's but we loved the concept and overall atmosphere in the hotel. Almost forgot outside space amazing as were all the staff.
