Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBeing asked ‘one for me’ by bar staff at the pool for table service. No please or thank you, tip just expected. This is not America ! Room booked was pool view, room received was garden view. Ended up locked in the indoor swimming pool for 30 minutes and none of the security staff were able to open the doors Eventually maintenance staff gained entry. Clearly this is dangerous and unacceptable. Checkin staff compensated us with a free meal the next night which was accepted by us.
Excellent facilities and standard of accommodation. Suite was large. Staff excellent. Very chilled and calm vibe.

United Arab EmiratesThe shower and toilet in our room had see-through glass, which offered no privacy at all. It turned out the lunch for our room was only available in one specific restaurant. This was not mentioned at the time of booking and made it inconvenient when we wanted to spend more time at the beach. The alternative “lunch box” option was disappointing – prepared at 8 am with yoghurts, fruit, and ham and cheese sandwiches left without refrigeration until lunchtime. Beach beds cost €50–120 per day and bookings are non-refundable. The beach itself lacks facilities, with no toilets and no internet access.
The resort has an amazing beachside location and hotel is surrounded by beautiful nature. It’s child-friendly, with a lovely kids’ club and playground. The staff were also very welcoming and kind, which made our stay feel warm and relaxed.

United KingdomI paid for half board, the costs for drinks etc added up!! I recommend keeping a running total to avoid the shock. Also thought the beach bed rentals were very expensive. Beach was beautiful though. You could you easily enjoy with a towel and a brolly.
Wonderful pools. One pool was adult only, that was hugely appreciated as I was there during summer school holidays.

United KingdomRestaurants are on the more expensive side which is fine if you’re happy to pay a bit more - it is a 5* hotel after all. Otherwise there’s a few local restaurants and towns nearby.
Amazing breakfast selection, incredibly friendly staff, we always had loungers even thought it was peak summer, beautiful surroundings and fab adult only pool.

United StatesStaff were a little incompetent and not up to 5 star standard, with some exceptions. IT didn't really bother me though, still had a great time and they were all nice and polite. There was a strange smell in the hallway / rooms for 2 of the 3 days. Staff came and fixed it both times, assume its a persistent issue with drains.
Facilities are great, everything looks great and pool areas are nice.

NetherlandsStaff at the Uddo restaurant were inattentive and the food not great (Bao bun with pork belly had no taste). This is the second time I eat at the Al Quimia restaurant as the first time it was excellent and creative. This time it was pretentious and over the top. The goat dish was too heavy, the pork cheek had no taste and the chicken dessert was awful. The staff at the Abyad for breakfast are not very attentive when it comes to bringing coffee or orange juice -- they stand around chatting with each other. The staff at Bluum Bar need to be more attentive. I ordered a vegetarian pizza and at first bite called the waitress over to say it tasted like blue cheese. She assured me it was mozzarella. She was talking off the top of her head instead of actually checking. When I left half the pizza one of the bartenders came over and I repeated that it tasted like blue cheese, but the waitress said it was mozzarella. He made the effort to check with the chef and it turned out to be vegan cheese -- vegetarian and vegan are two different things. I still don't think they should have charged me euros 18 for a half-eaten pizza.
Pool is very nice and the staff at the Open Deck restaurant and bar very helpful and pleasant, especially Hector and Oleana Staff at the LIMA restaurant were very professional and the food was excellent. Shout out for Rodrigo at Bluum Bar. The beach is quite spectacular. The room is nicely appointed. The bottles of water were much appreciated.

LuxembourgThe management should strongly consider to install a toilet down at the beach. It’s not normal that you pay expensive sun beds and each time you have to take all the stairs up and then down to go to the toilet at the hotel. Pine Cliffs has it plus a beach bar. Some more events have to be organised during summer, as otherwise it becomes boring after a few days. As also outside the resort there isn’t much interesting to see. Last year we stayed at the Pine Cliffs and it worths more. In terms of global experience it offers more value for the money you will pay. Honestly, the breakfast wasn’t great - variety and quality. Again Pine Cliffs 10/0.
The quality of the service that the staff provides is excellent - very attentive and kind. It’s clean, well maintained and organised. The Japanese restaurant is okay but still has a lot to learn compared to the quality of their competitor Yakuza at the Pine Cliffs. Probably the best restaurant they have is the Italian. The AlQimia is also a nice experience. There is a service at the beach - sun beds, at additional cost, and food delivery from the beach bar up at the hotel. The beach is beautiful. The spa area is nice - group classes, gym, massages. Really recommended to try.

United KingdomJust two comments: 1) The comfort and the furniture in the room's balconies are not what you would expect for a 5 start hotel. This is probably why they dont seem to be used much, but the hotel has other nice outdoor areas that compensate for that. 2) The food is overall expensive, but that only became a problem for us in the pool bar where it needs better quality and variety for the price.
Great service overall. Very well kept hotel, both indoors and outdoors. Spacious outdoor pools and great access to the beach. Valet service is included and is very helpful. Good food throughout and multiple restaurants. Comfortable rooms. It was a very pleasant stay for a week holiday.

United KingdomNot much. The playground could have something for younger children between the age of 1-3. The climbing frames were too big. If the kid’s club offered its services to toddlers above 12 months, this would’ve been even better.
We had a home suite for a couple and young children. The space was excellent with a kitchenette, it was easy to cook for the children when needed. The half board options were really great for everyone. I had an accident and the hotel staff was extremely helpful, I couldn’t praise them highly enough! Thank you so much for making that a stress free experience.

The setting in the grounds full of trees and greenery is fantastic. The food in the different restaurants for breakfast lunch and dinner is really good. The staff are incredible though they bring that Portuguese friendliness and can't do enough for you. The beach is amazing and a lovely alternative to the pool areas.
