This hostel was in a very central location in Barcelos. We were only staying one night as walking the Camino Portuguese so it was perfect for an overnight stop. There are plenty of places to eat in the vicinity but there is also a kitchen if you'd rather eat in. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

The washing machine and drier only work with coins but they don’t change money at reception so you should have some coins with you. You also need to have your own detergent and softener, otherwise it’s only water.

Stayed one night during the Caminho de Santiago. Location and room are very good. There is a kitchen which you can use to make food and fridge to store food, which is the same place they serve breakfast. The normal hour for breakfast was 8am but the staff at reception kindly did it 30min earlier for us. There was a washing machine and tumble dryer at the hostel which were very handy for us as we really needed to wash our clothes and other laundries were a bit far.

Reception is closed until 15.00 which is unexpected for a hostel or hotel. One window in our room was boarded up. The drain in the bathroom got stuck closed, but the receptionist worked hard and successfully to resolve that

The hostel is right in the center, close to shops and restaurants and on the Camino de Santiago.

Beautiful historical building, centrally located and yet relatively quiet. Nice terrace where you can eat inside and outside . Well equipped kitchen. AC in room very quiet.

I liked it all!

The receptionist was so welcoming after walking my longest day on the Camino and property was secure. Code to enter room and property. The room I stayed in had a balcony, private bathroom, AC (as an American that was a surprise!) and in the center of all the restaurants.

Beautiful old building, but fully modernised inside. Great facilities including a very fully equipped kitchen, coin laundry (reasonable cost) and common room. Lift available. Top class hostel right in the centre of a great town.

Shower floor was just soaking and really hard to get dry after showering, but otherwise a nice stay.

Great location in a great town. Quite a lot of stairs after a long day of walking to get up to the rooms! Very spacious private rooms and comfortable dorm beds.

I felt for the price they could have put the sheets on the bed. I know this is common in hostels in Portugal and Spain, but when you're paying €30 a night, it feels like something they should do.

Great set up for pilgrims. Beds comfy and self-contained with curtains, light, plug and locker. Great kitchen facilities and useful washing facilities. Perfect central location too. Plus, check out the scary living room with a glass floor.

Great location, comfy beds, huge bathroom. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was $5 per person and it was a spread of toast, pastries, juice, yoghurts. Great location near restaurants and cafes. Quiet. Highly recommend!

Actually everything was great!

This was my first time staying in a hostel and I was blown away at how comfortable it was. The bunk beds have lockers beneath and curtains for maximum privacy. Also each bed has an electric socket and the beds are actually really comfortable. I also got a pillow, sheets and towels! There is everything you can possibly need like the washing machine, dryer, kitchen and dining room
