How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I’ve never left a bad review on booking.com but this place was such a disappointment, we had such high hopes as it has so much potential. First off, shoutout to the staff who thought it was totally fine to bang on our door at 11pm demanding… wait for it… £6. Yes, six whole pounds. Nothing says “relaxing 5* hotel” like scaring the life out of my pregnant partner over the cost of two bottles of water. The best part? Earlier that day they overcharged us and suggested, instead of refunding, we just keep a £20 “bar tab credit.” So basically: If they owe you £20, you get credit. You owe £6, they’ll send in the debt collectors at midnight. Jesus chill, it could’ve waited till the morning. Never in my life did I think I’d witness full-blown battles over sun beds. It was carnage. People arguing, towel tossing, and territorial warfare worthy of its own Netflix series (we lost our sunbeds twice), Benidorm comes to mind.. come on, don’t be cheap, just buy more sun beds for your guests, you still have plenty of space round the pools for them. We weren’t informed one of the restaurants was closed, leaving just one restaurant with limited options (we ended up eating out) - FYI if you’re half board you get a different menu to others and let’s just say, it’s pretty basic without much options. The staff… they were friendly enough, but asking them anything about the hotel was like entering a quiz show where the only prize was disappointment. Request something to your room? Expect no delivery. Info? Expect blank stares. Pricing on massages? Was told this would be delivered to our room.. never was (lost out on business there). Honestly, we gave up and started Googling things ourselves, faster and far less painful. Other bits? Spa feels like a furnace, door handles don’t all work, and check the shampoo bottle before you lather up. To be fair, the concierge was great, recommended a brilliant Italian when we gave up on the hotel food.

There seems to be loads of staff and somehow still you wait and wait to be served! They could make so much more money if they had a few good staff members serving around the pool area, terrible service there! The lovely upstairs bar has stunning views but again we walked out because we were flat out ignored sitting there! 😵💫

The room service staff, staff working by the pool did not speak much English and struggled to explain needs and requirements. Room service didn't happen until very late afternoon which wasn't convenient - Also the staff walked in to the room within less than 10 seconds of knocking on the door. I could have been naked or in the shower.

Verified reviewVery cozy, new (opened 05/2025) hotel. All rooms are spacious, decorated with handmade ceramics and wood accents. Beautiful garden. Exclusive rooms with views of the Atlantic Ocean. Residents of the apartment can enjoy 2 separate baths, showers and a toilet. The living room and bedroom have separate spacious balconies with fine upholstered furniture and views of the outdoor pools planted with palm trees. The spa features a large heated indoor pool, a hydroactive spa treatment area with a floating pool, a hot tub, a sauna, Turkish baths and a modern gym. There is a beautiful path to São Rafael beach. The hotel also hosts the brand's signature Kimpton evening social hour, where guests are invited to enjoy complimentary drinks, snacks and chat with other travelers. A very nice administrator is responsible for the activities. She took care of the trips and ordered excellent restaurants for exclusive dinners in the region. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
All outdoor pools are unheated, cold water. In the SPA center steam sauna and jacuzzi were not yet operational. Breakfast - A la carte (hot dishes and drinks).
