How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewLocation is great, stuff is helpful and nice, the breakfast is quite good: even slightly, but they try to change the menu every day, they usually have a good selection of meals.
We were placed close to the elevator, which is quite silent, however you feel like you are sleeping close to a fridge. Nevertheless, the guests are much less silent, especially at 4am when they are leaving to continue their journey. The bathroom was OK, we had an issue with soap dispenser, which was resolved quickly. The toilet and shower cabin is good for older and impaired people: this was not very convenient in the very beginning, the toilet paper dispenser was quite far from the toilet seat itself, for example. But later, after I burnt my feet these supports were actually useful haha. The shower was a bit clogged from time to time, we had to clean it manually. We also experienced strange smell, I think it was getting stronger when AC was functioning. Like mold or something.

I was in room 33 and the floors were so creaky and the walls so thin. Basically if anyone is up chatting late you will hear everything. I did discuss this with the staff and they offered to move ne so they were accommodating.

Not very well insulated. We were first given a room under the hotel rooftop bar but the noise from the moving chairs kept us awake in the evening and woke us up very early. We were moved rooms instantly. They were very helpful.

Verified reviewWe had a wonderful stay in Lisbon, and the highlight was undoubtedly the incredibly solicitous staff—always ready to help and make us feel at home. Special thanks to Pedro, Pamela, Felipe, and both Claudias for their warmth and attentiveness! The location is fantastic, with picturesque spots like the iconic Line 28 cable car, beautiful miradouros, great restaurants, and Praça Camões all within a 5-minute walk. Just a heads-up: the hotel isn't directly accessible by Uber, but it's a short and easy walk from drop-off points. We traveled with our 3-year-old, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure he was well cared for. We truly felt welcomed and would absolutely stay here again.
During the weekend, the surroundings felt a bit shady at night, but we noticed that the area is quickly and consistently patrolled by police, which helped us feel safe.

The staff there very helpful and the receptionist gave us a lot of recommendations for our stay.There`s a 3 storied skyline bar next to the hotel, where we enjoyed a great city view. At the last day they let us deposit our luggage after checking out, which was also great. - The street felt "safe", we hadn't been offered drugs like in some other streets.
- Included in our booking. com booking was a driver, which couldn`t drive in the street to the hotel - and the drive was a bit adventerous. - Maybe the skyline bar next to the hotel - they had some music going - but it wasn`t so loud or long, I think.

Verified reviewlike everyone else says the location is amazing! I feel very lucky to have found this last minute. The gorgeous historical aspect of the neighborhood and the convenience of walking to things both convenient and ionically cultural can’t be beat. The hospitality and staff is also top level. Eating breakfast on the rooftop is the best. Plus an elevator! * A Good thing to know is that this place is on a hill, all the streets are beautiful cobblestone, and Rideshare cannot enter the immediate area. — it’s a steep walk up if you enter from the Time Out Market entry Area, but if you map the church of Saint Catherine and walk from there it’s much easier. Call and Take advantage of the hotel private cab service when getting to and from airport and trains.
