It’s a bit too far from the beach, specially the return back it’s very hard…. We took an Uber …it would be a great idea to organize a shuttle to take guests it would be definitely a plus for the guests. The pillows were too high… and all the TVs were too small for the size of the rooms and leaving room. The place needs a huge paint refresher and a lots of renovation specifically on the pool wood bridge that some are falling apart.

It’s a small and quite resort well maintained and peaceful with a lovely atmosphere. We parked the car in front of the property. The apartment was very spacious. The kitchen has everything that you need. The breakfast was very fresh and staff very friendly. We will return 😊

Housekeeping everyday was a little excessive we thought - towels would be fine every other day rather than daily - can’t be good for the environment?

There were ants coming in the living room from the start on the bottom floor. But other than that it was perfect.

After 16 years we visited the hotel again. Some details may need refreshing, but whole hotel is exactly as you need to spend joyful holiday. Spacious terrain around makes you feel free.

We checked in at around 5pm to our house, ac was not working, after several phone calls and three trips to reception, finally got someone to come and check it and they then told us that there is some technical issue and that we need to move. We then had to repack and move to another house at 10pm at night, whilst one of our teenagers was already in bed and the other in the shower. This experience could have been avoided entirely by checking the property before issuing it to a guest. Cleaning ladies came at disparate times, didn't clean properly, nor changed the sheets or replaced finished toiletries or changed towels every day, or at least every other day.

Stayed 4 nights, amazing breakfast, beautiful setting, and gym and pool facilities. Had dinner on the last night, and the restaurant manager Christiano, exceeded our expectations with customising some of our dishes and even had halal dishes on the menu. We had an early checkout on our last day and missed breakfast, and he even provided breakfast boxes for our two teens for takeaway.

I was disappointed because there weren’t fresh vegetables for breakfast at all. I waited for some fresh cucumbers or at least a leaf of green salad.

Excellent place for vacation with the kids. Friendly staff, spacious apartment, several pools, very quiet and calm. Easy go to the center and beach, if you have a car.

A Wonderful Stay Made Even More Memorable by Exceptional Care This was our third visit to Carvoeiro and our second time staying at Monte Santo Resort – and once again, it reminded us exactly why we love coming back. The resort is beautiful, the location is perfect, and the team truly goes above and beyond to make every stay special. During this visit, our daughter unfortunately injured her foot and required stitches – not the kind of holiday moment any parent wants to deal with. But the way the staff at Monte Santo responded was absolutely outstanding and turned a difficult situation into something positive. A heartfelt thank you goes to Mariana, who was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely caring throughout our stay. Her support made a big difference and truly stood out. We were also deeply touched by the thoughtfulness of the wider team. Everyone from the reception staff to housekeeping asked after our daughter and offered help in every way they could. Despite the unexpected twist to our holiday, Monte Santo helped make it a memorable and positive experience. We’re so grateful for the care and professionalism shown, and we’ll absolutely be returning again. Highly recommended – not just for the beautiful setting and facilities, but for the incredible people who make it truly special.

That we had to leave.

The resort was gorgeous! The room was huge! It was easily the biggest and nicest place we stayed at on our European vacation but it was also easily the least expensive. I loved the area and how close it was to a town. The streets were all manicured nicely! The staff went out of their way to be nice to us. The heated pool was amazing! Loved the sauna / hot tub/ steam room and gym as well. I liked it so much I might buy a unit! Can’t say enough great things about this place. The romantic package I paid for was so well presented with rose petals everywhere and champagne as well as chocolate to die for. The cliff lines out there are breathtaking and the Bengali caves kayak tour was a must do!! Unless you’re out of shape…then maybe take a boat or see if you can find an escalator.

We felt that the pool need more canopies or umberellas for shade. Also we felt that the schedule for cleaning apartments could be better managed with young children, however when requested times were changed to suit and the property was very accomodating.

The apartment was fantastic, very spacious and very well equipped. The pool and grounds are lovely and has a nice atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and obilging.

Some areas are looking tired, but they are doing work at the moment

Kids pool was perfect, location was perfect. Short stroll into Carvoeiro, Very clean, cleaners came in every day, fresh towels etc. Little park was nice. We brought my parents and the 3 bedroom townhouse is perfect. We stayed 2 years ago and this time was slightly better ! Staff were very friendly We will be returning again next year.

We loved Monte Santo, it's classy & calm but still has all amenities like kids club, poolside waiter service, room service, daily cleaning. You could probably let the location put you off as it's about 20 minute walk to the beach but its actually so much nicer than the streets off from the beach. Taxi's generally cost under 5 euro & arrived within minutes of booking on Uber (we travelled in mid may so I'm sure its busier in peak seasons) before we arrived I had read some reviews that the place needed some minor redecoration or fixing up - I can say it was all done & everything was perfect. Obviously its not a chef standard kitchen in the suites and townhouses but everything you could possibly need, a functioning washing machine, dishwasher, hob & cutlery etc. Staff couldn't be more attentive & friendly. The pool is luxurious, the pool restaurant and bar is elegant & the gym is spacious. All the changing areas and restrooms are really nice too - A higher standard than what you'd expect from resorts similarly priced / located. Spa looked (and smelled) great, we didn't find the time to use it this time but would next time! We had a 2 bed suite & it's really spacious for a family of 3/4. We did a local pirate ship tour from Portimao, got a Taxi which was cheap & it was one of the best things we've done, the staff were so friendly, it wasn't cheesy but still great fun, took us into the local caves on smaller boats & the surroundings were incredible. Would highly recommend.
