The best thing was definitely the hospitality and the coziness provided by Ines and Zé Maria. Usually we say that home is where the people we love are and definitely this is how we felt for the 5 days we stayed at Outeiro Tuias. We will for sure come back

The building take you to a journey through old times, in our room we have old games to play, old books and objects. The chapel in the middle of the building with inside access is a plus. Our room was super spacious and the bed was extra comfortable. Hots are very friendly.

Not a con, but a heads-up: A teeny bit hard to find, so make sure you get good directions before traveling there.

We loved the owners and the history of the place (parts of the manor house were first built 300 years ago, and the family has owned the property for hundreds of years). It has a very welcoming vibe -- we were treated like long-awaited friends coming for a visit. As I saw in a local newspaper review, roughly translated: "Come as a guest, leave as a friend." It was so wonderfully quiet at night, and the breakfast was spectacular. And the grounds are extensive, with a pool and a lot of indoor/outdoor relaxation space. Oh, and the manor house has its own adorable chapel. Contact Ines and you might just be able to hold your event there! :-)

There was nothing we didn't like.

We were very pleased that we had chosen this beautiful location, and it was a lovely opportunity to stay in a Portuguese Manor house. Our hosts Ines and Jose were outstanding, very welcoming, helpful and informative about the area.The breakfast was superb, part of which was a variety every day of amazing homemade cakes. Would certainly make a return visit.

Fantastic and authentic manor house with unique environment with more than 400 years. Real Chapel of Our Lady Pilar. Very good breakfast. The best of the stay was talking to Inês, the owner. Unique experience.

The town of Marco de Canaveses is quite large and busy, although the Riverwalk area is charming. You need to drive to nearest restaurants from the property.

Beautiful and unique property with onsite chapel. Loved the pool and grounds and the rooms/bed were very comfortable.

Inês e José are lovely and kind hosts! We loved hearing about the history of the Mansion and touring the place. Breakfast was exceptional and I enjoyed the pool in the heatwave. It is a beautiful, peaceful place that we highly recommend. Great experience!

Nothing

Old family house / estate. You are very close to Marco de Canaveses, but feel like you're in the middle of the countryside. The house is stunning and there are many items leftover from previous generations. The garden is lovely, with lots of different spots to sit down so you are never really sharing with anyone else. Breakfast is delicious. And most of all, the owners are incredibly lovely and make you feel at home straight away!

Some people might prefer a different location - but for us it was perfect distance from both Porto and Douro valley, and lays in a very nice place on its own. Exactly what we expected and needed.

We had a exceptional experience. The place is beautiful, both the house and the view - we just felt like royalty. As for the staff - everyone were amazing. The host was so kind, we didnt want to leave! We had a baby with us and Ines went over the top to help us - we felt like family, really wish we could visit again.

There’s nothing not to like

400 years of family history give the Manor House character and a special atmosphere. Clean, tastefully decorated rooms, a swimming pool close to the vines and a great choice at breakfast make for a memorable experience. José and Ines have put their hearts in to the house and in to the really warm hospitality they offer their guests.

Beautiful old antique house. The owners are wonderful hosts, and within reach for questions, and very good suggestions. The scenery is beautiful, so are the grounds and pool. The facilities with coffee, tea and water , usable 24 hours, are very practical, and just lovely. We felt very much at home, and would like to come back.
