Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe bedroom key was so frustrating and almost impossible to use. We ultimately chose to leave our door unlocked to avoid the hassle and delay in trying to open the locked door.
The architectural style of this small hotel is a unique mix of the old (stone walls) and the modern (glass and metal construction). It is located in the small village of Figueiredo das Donas - in the hills between Vouzela and Sao Pedro do Sul. There is a well preserved, 13th Century Roman Road that is directly outside the main gate and the local townsfolk were warm and inviting. Our bed was probably the most comfortable we enjoyed during our two weeks in Portugal. Breakfast was abundant and our hostess was kind and spoke terrific English. Although not associated with the hotel, our dinner at Margarida Restaurante in nearby Vouzela was delicious and memorable. Fernando and his wife, Margarida, are the owners (they double as waiter and chef. They are kind and friendly and the regional food they offer (we had their Arroz de Forno, Carne, Fumeiro, e Cogumelos) is out of this world!

PortugalThat I always have to leave this place :(
Very good staff - Patricia is amazing. Very quiet place surrounded by nature and good accessibilities. The swimming pool is a big plus! It has been the place I spend my summer holidays in the last 4 years. My son grew up having this house in the memory - it is for him and for us a symbolism of summer vacations. Very good for families as kids can explore every corner safely. For couples there is plenty of quiet corners to stay quiet and calm. There is no restaurants near by but this year we had soft meals in the lunch (prepared by Patricia) in the hotel and we ordered food in the dinner - very good improvement. The breakfast has everything that we need in the morning.

United KingdomRestaurant not open end of May in evening, but had a good meal in the neighboring village.
Very friendly staff. The hotel is directly on a really interesting 11km walk, which passes through lovely countryside and villages, finishing on a genuine romantic road, there are two fun river crossings too.

GermanyA couple more of electric outlets would be nice. (maybe in form of a multiple outlet extension cord) For charging phines
Exceptional property, built around ancient stone walls, with beautiful spacious rooms. Stunning view from the pool area and private balconies with seating. Very friendly staff and a serene athmosphere, especially on weekdays when not many guests are present. We loved it.

PortugalThe bed although large was not very comfortable. Everything was clean, most of the staff attentive but two nights of barking dogs until 1:00 and 2:00 AM was enought for me to say never again.
The breakfast was good. The location was pleasant except for the dogs both from the property owner and from the neighbor that kept me up all night barking. When we contacted the front desk to report the problem we were presented with "what did you want us to do". Well as far as their dogs, perhaps put them inside!

United KingdomThe bathroom was not very clean, with mould in a few spaces. The shower head should be already replaced, and a bit renovated. The old furniture in the room gives an unpleasant stench smell that it's just hard to bear. The air fresheners everywhere don't help, you can still feel it. The room was a bit cold, and the AC was very temperamental, it worked as it wanted when it wanted. Breakfast was very average, with market-type staff, just the fresh made orange juice was okay. Although the weather did not allow us to use the pool, the pools were dirty, so even if the weather would be okay, we wouldn't decide to swim at all.
The location was great because of the views, and the house is very nice overall, a connection of old and modern at the same time. The room was spacious, so plenty of space. Staff was very friendly and understanding.
