Such a beautiful and peaceful environment. Super friendly host and very service minded staff. The grand chilenen of the house asked us several times at the pool if they could get us something (wine, food etc). We loved our stay!

Bringing my luggage to the room was very difficult since there was no elevator. But it’s an old and beautiful property so I could understand.

In one of the most beautiful spots in the Douro, with a great view of the river. The terrace at the hotel was awesome, and the view was amazing. Perfect place to enjoy few glasses of wine. Super relaxing and just what we needed after the craziness of Porto.

Fabulous property. The view on the Douro is stunning. The staff members are very welcoming, helpful and nice. The food was delicious and the rooms were very clean. A special shoutout to Angela who is absolutely fantastic. Everybody wants to make your stay an unforgettable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this place.

Amazing little hidden oasis tucked into the Hills of the Douro Valley. The property is well laid out with lots of little nooks and crannies for people to enjoy privately. The views up, down and across the Douro Valley were spectacular. The pool was a welcome relief at the end of a day of exploring nearby vineyards. We were super appreciative and relied on the information we were provided with upon arrival. From the meals cooked and served to the check in and housekeeping teams we were humbled by the hospitality and caring bestowed upon us so that we could enjoy a top quality experience.

Everything was stunning- couldn’t fault a thing!

Stunning location and an amazing place to relax. Nothing was too much trouble for Angela and the staff. All the facilities were very high spec and it felt like being home from home. It was much more than a hotel - we felt part of a big family. The food was exceptional and we ate in a light and airy dining area overlooking the river. Wow - like paradise from the moment we arrived ( by train to Ferrão-a station on the Douro line) Angela picked us up and whisked us 5 minutes up the hill. Welcome drinks by the pool and views to dream about!! We’ll be back- shame we only booked one night!

Scenically stunning looking over the river, valley and vineyards. Excellent friendly staff, delicious food, nothing was too much trouble. I could have stayed.

The views, the tranquillity and the pool were great. Angela’s hospitality was above every known standard. She invited us to stay and enjoy the pool till late afternoon on our checkout morning, she served us a try of cheeses and snacks with 2 glasses of wine to the pool area, and she gave my husband as a gift a book he started reading from the house library. The dinner Foni clocked us was amazing.

Angela and her team did everything they could to help us enjoy our stay including help with planning local activities. The breakfast lunch and dinner were excellent as was the wine. One of our group was gluten intolerant and staff went out of their way to ensure that gluten free options were available. Gardens and views are spectacular. Relaxing area by the pool after a busy day. We would highly recommend and will return.

Everything 😀 Stunning property, overlooking the Duoro River. The manager Angela is extremely efficient and welcoming. Beds were so comfortable, beautiful linen and beautifully styled. Quinta da Marka is also handy for visiting Pinhao on the train, take a 1 hour boat ride on the river visiting wineries nearby. The pool is divine after a hot day visiting wineries and Pinhao. Welcome drink on arrival too much appreciated.

Da Marka is in a great location with stunning views over the Douro River. The rooms are lovely and there are various indoor and outdoor seating areas which are well set up to relax and enjoy the views. Staff are exceptional and food is delicious.

We didn't love the evening meal. It was good value for money and maybe we are spoilt, we didn't think think it was nearly as good as anything else we have eaten on our trip to the Douro and Porto.

We had such a friendly, helpful welcome by Angela. She helped us carry our cases to our room, she explained everything and was generally an absolute gem! We hope to see her again next year!! The room was comfortable, the Quinta itself and the grounds were beautiful. What a dream!

It was a brilliant location, Angela and her team really gave us great service, with Angela helping with local things to do, even gave us a ride to the train station which was a great option to get into Pinheo (?) , we were spoiled as we were the only guests but there were so many areas both inside and out, the food was brilliant and the views were amazing too,
