How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

This is the first time I have encountered such a violation of rights in my life. I have been to more than 35 countries, I stayed at different hotels. This place is the worst you can find. We checked in, from the beginning the atmosphere at the reception was not friendly. They took a few thousands euros as a deposit, and that was okay. But then, a few days later, they took more thousands euros without OUR PRESENCE AND OUR KNOWLEDGE. I came to the reception and wanted to know why they didn’t say NOTHING about this transaction. This is a direct violation. The hotel has no right to take money without my presence or without notification of it. But that’s not all. They automatically add a “suggested” tip. In restaurants, there is a “Tips” mark at the bottom of the receipts, you can write 5% or 10% there, but it doesn’t matter, they will add what you wrote + the suggested 10%. Because of this, you will have to stand at the reception for two hours until the reception corrects the bill. The evening before check out, I was solving this issue. When we solved the issue with double tips, they did not show the bill the exact amount that they plan to charge. This hotel violated all the rules of payment. I have never seen anything like this anywhere. He did not show how much he was going to charge. I expected that I would make a payment through the payment terminal, but it all happened at once. He charged money without a POS-terminal, I did not even know what amount he was taking. I just receive a message from the bank that he took the money and that's it. I told him several times that the hotel administration had already charged the deposit, but he charged MUCH MORE THAN NEEDED. He argued that the money would be returned, but in reality you don't have this money on the card. He said the money would be returned the next day, which was a lie. What was the point of taking an additional thousands euros when he needs to charge a much smaller amount??

Rooms were a bit dated, the pool near us was dirty for a few days. The service was hit and miss. The restaurants were overprice and the tips get added even when you don’t put a tip on the document.

Verified reviewWhat we did in fact like the most, was the staff!! Everyone was very friendly from the front desk, to the concierge moving to the housekeeping and specially the breakfast staff and waiting staff. Location is perfect with one of the best views over the garden and ocean. The facilities in general are great. We stayed in the main hotel and the room was comfortable and always very clean.
Though we are rating our stay 10 out of 10, we are disappointed with the restaurant "O Pescador", we ordered drinks that never arrived, so we had the majority of our meal without drinks, though we have asked the waitress in all 3 times she came to our table to clear our tray still half full with seafood, about them and had to ask why she was so concerned in rather clearing something from our table that still had food. It just seemed messy, since we had in total 4 different waiters coming up to our table to serve. At the end, the drinks we had ordered were in the bill, it was an easy fix and surely during high season staff might be tired, but it is not a good experience, that does not influence at all the other great ones we had.

Run down. Not maintained at all. AC barely works. But rumbling. Only single door key handed. Could not give me the second to keep the fridge and charger working.. No phone in the room to call reception (!!!!) although the brochure says - call “0” for reception. Incredible. The TV set completely out of order. No channels.. nothing. Absolute rubbish of a hotel.

Verified reviewWe stay on a regular basis, the location and the campus is pretty amazing really.
A recurring issue we’ve noticed over the years is the lack of experienced front-of-house staff. During check-in, I felt I knew more about the hotel than the receptionist. She made several mistakes, and I ended up guiding her through parts of the process—likely frustrating for both of us. One of these errors later caused a problem with our pre-authorisation, which affected us throughout the stay. Another ongoing frustration is booking restaurant reservations. In previous years, we arrived to find everything already fully booked weeks in advance. This year, anticipating the same, I emailed ahead—but once again received no response prior to arrival. I appreciate this may sound like nit-picking, but it’s in the context of the hotel’s repeated claims of offering excellent service. After five consecutive visits, it’s disappointing that the front-facing team still seems undertrained. That said, it won’t stop us from returning—the overall experience remains enjoyable—but it’s a shame, because if this were addressed, the hotel could truly be exceptional. There was also an issue the night before departure when a water main broke outside the hotel, cutting off the water supply. We were offered use of the suites the following morning, which still had running water. However, the staff at the suite reception came across as dismissive. Given the circumstances and the fact we’d spent over £10,000 at the hotel, it felt like they were doing us a favour, rather than providing a basic service, they should have refunded the night really.. bye and bye… the stay was great the beach is amazing ..
