Housekeeping could improve, the way beds are made is not in line with other properties of similar caliber (sheets are not tucked in properly and the bed gets undone very quickly) and sometimes the service comes really too late in the afternoon. But apart from that, all was good!

It's our 5th year at Vidamar, and we continue to find the location unbeatable, right on the beach with the beautiful palmtrees landscaping - the huge beautiful pool is unique and the rooms are very comfortable. Nice varied breakfast. We also added the half board option for all the days and found it to be a good decision if you really just want to chill and enjoy staying at the hotel. We had a small problem with some guests at the pool who were refusing to behave in conformity with the rules and the hotel management (Carolina) was prompt to resolve things with great professionalism, effectiveness and discreetness. Spa treatments also great, good products and great value for money. We noticed that certain areas of the hotel were freshly renovated, which is a great sign that the property, even being recent, is well kept to a high standard of maintenance. All in all, another fantastic family stay at Vidamar.

The service was slow getting food at the poolside restaurants on two days when there were weddings happening. Need a few more staff on the hotel guests especially if you are paying additionally for lunch meals (half board).

Kids club was amazing. The staff great, my 4 year old enjoyed the crafts everyday and made some lovely friends. The children's pools were nice, clean and perfect for young families.

Honest review. This is not a 5 star hotel, 4 star. Pros Very clean rooms and hotel in general. Staff are polite and attentitive. Very nice main pool and can get a deck chair at anytime of the day. Beach is close-by and very clean. Cons For families there is no evening entertainment apart from a band. Being half board I would not expect to pay for drinks at dinner but you do and they are pricey. Even water they charged 5 euros for a 70cl bottle. Overall 4 Star hotel but not 5 Star as suggested.

Some minor service issues at pool restaurant. But all quickly resolved. We were very satisfied at the end. Maybe as a minimum water at the pool should be offered complimentary.

Great resort. Really enjoyed the pool. Nice lounges. Very relaxed with family. Great beach, very nearby, and easily accessible thru a nice walk crossing the dunes. Very good quality breakfast. All fresh food. Overall, family and kids had a great experience. On arrival, staff went the extra mile to accommodate us. Outstanding.

Our mattress felt like it was wrapped in plastic under the sheets. When we were in bed we could hear the plastic rustle which made it feel cheap and not to the level of the hotel overall. The queue for the omelettes was very long and if we wanted a fried egg we would have to join the same queue

Food quality at breakfast was poor All pre prepared hot food was cold as was the “hot” water for tea. Pool side snack bar service was a disaster left waiting over an hour for food on day 1 didn’t try again. Constant steam of servers walking around with orders getting cold while try to figure where to go.

Beautiful location with fabulous pool area. No need to rush to reserve sun lounges as there was an abundance of beds with ideal spacing.

Everything is an extra and mostly high priced. In a 5 star hotel, I would expect a little more generosity. Basic things like having enough drinking water, even water in reception did not appear to be freely available.

The style and layout of the hotel are excellent, the pool is great and I love the nature reserve next door.

Room balcony’s were covered in flys. Air con difficult to use or didn’t work. Spa water features need fixed. Gym opening hours. 10am opening?

It would have been nice if one of the three outdoor pools was heated. I know it was quite that time of the year and wouldn’t pay them, but one would have been sufficient.

Everything was excellent, especially the staff, indoor pool, spa and facilities in general. The food was pretty good at the buffet, but the Italian restaurant was splendid.

Outside pools weren’t heated but i suppose it was quiet that time of the year so it wouldn’t pay them. However, heating one of the three outdoor pools would of been nice and sufficient.

Quite expensive for this time of the year. Many retired long time residents who obviously paid a lot less for their stay.

Nice hotel adjacent to Salgados golf couse. Direct access to beach. Outstanding breakfast.

Appreciate the hotel was quiet but the food wasn't as hot as it normally is. Sound insulation in the room isn't great if you've got someone in the room above. Not a big lover of plastic waterproof mattress protectors
