    The hotel itself is wonderful — great access to the beach, lovely pools, nice atmosphere, and plenty of fun for kids with shows and activities. My children really enjoyed the facilities, and most of the staff around the resort were friendly. Unfortunately, the customer service at reception completely ruined the experience.

    We originally tried to book two rooms on Booking.com but there was no space. We booked one, only to discover on arrival that there was space for another room — and at €100 cheaper. At check-in, I booked for 5 people including an infant, but then we were told the room was too small. Because of this, I ended up leaving my family and staying elsewhere to comply with policy, while my wife and 3 kids struggled alone. Reception promised me they would sort the situation and contact me to finalise arrangements for the second day. They did not. Worse, they later claimed they had emailed and called me, which was untrue — when I showed them proof, they were visibly embarrassed. Meanwhile, while I was away at work, my wife and three kids were hassled by reception for payment relating to the second day, even though the communication breakdown was entirely their fault. It wasn’t until the new duty manager, Carolina, came in later in the day that anything moved forward. She was polite and understanding, but ultimately no responsibility was taken for her team’s negligence — only payment seemed to matter. I explained to her that money was not the issue (and she could see I settled the bill immediately), but that paying over €800 for two nights at a “5-star resort” while receiving “3-star treatment” was deeply disappointing. The most upsetting part was the pressure placed on my wife and children while I wasn’t there to support them. All of this stress could have been avoided if reception had simply communicated properly from the start or honoured their promise to call/email me before hassling my family.

    It's our 5th year at Vidamar, and we continue to find the location unbeatable, right on the beach with the beautiful palmtrees landscaping - the huge beautiful pool is unique and the rooms are very comfortable. Nice varied breakfast. We also added the half board option for all the days and found it to be a good decision if you really just want to chill and enjoy staying at the hotel. We had a small problem with some guests at the pool who were refusing to behave in conformity with the rules and the hotel management (Carolina) was prompt to resolve things with great professionalism, effectiveness and discreetness. Spa treatments also great, good products and great value for money. We noticed that certain areas of the hotel were freshly renovated, which is a great sign that the property, even being recent, is well kept to a high standard of maintenance. All in all, another fantastic family stay at Vidamar.

    Housekeeping could improve, the way beds are made is not in line with other properties of similar caliber (sheets are not tucked in properly and the bed gets undone very quickly) and sometimes the service comes really too late in the afternoon. But apart from that, all was good!

    Kids club was amazing. The staff great, my 4 year old enjoyed the crafts everyday and made some lovely friends. The children's pools were nice, clean and perfect for young families.

    The service was slow getting food at the poolside restaurants on two days when there were weddings happening. Need a few more staff on the hotel guests especially if you are paying additionally for lunch meals (half board).

    Honest review. This is not a 5 star hotel, 4 star. Pros Very clean rooms and hotel in general. Staff are polite and attentitive. Very nice main pool and can get a deck chair at anytime of the day. Beach is close-by and very clean. Cons For families there is no evening entertainment apart from a band. Being half board I would not expect to pay for drinks at dinner but you do and they are pricey. Even water they charged 5 euros for a 70cl bottle. Overall 4 Star hotel but not 5 Star as suggested.

    Great resort. Really enjoyed the pool. Nice lounges. Very relaxed with family. Great beach, very nearby, and easily accessible thru a nice walk crossing the dunes. Very good quality breakfast. All fresh food. Overall, family and kids had a great experience. On arrival, staff went the extra mile to accommodate us. Outstanding.

    Some minor service issues at pool restaurant. But all quickly resolved. We were very satisfied at the end. Maybe as a minimum water at the pool should be offered complimentary.

    Our mattress felt like it was wrapped in plastic under the sheets. When we were in bed we could hear the plastic rustle which made it feel cheap and not to the level of the hotel overall. The queue for the omelettes was very long and if we wanted a fried egg we would have to join the same queue
