How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewLocation - central to all aquatic operators, restaurants and local convenience stores. The hotel has its own little beach where you can swim as well as access to reasonable snorkeling with large clams and fish life out front. The front desk staff were a highlight as they were super friendly and helpful.

Verified reviewThe location was excellent, close to restaurants and diving operations for tours. The outlook was beautiful and nice to have own beach area. The staff were excellent - always happy to help with booking restaurants, car hire etc.

Verified reviewThe location of this hotel, the private beach, and the pool are amazing. You can snorkel around the private beach and see beautiful coral and reef fish. The beach bar is also lovely to sit at :) The rooms are large and have good facilities, breakfast is tasty (freshly made eggs to order), and the staff are incredible (they made our stay so much better).
Our rooms had a tiny balcony which you couldn't sit on, and everything smelt a bit musty. We also had a problem with a lot of bugs in our room (didn't bother us but might bother some) and there was alot of very loud consutrction happening all day in the reception - the staff are saints for putting up with it. Given how pricey it was, I felt value for money was lacking.

Verified reviewThe location of the hotel is perfect it’s not far from the main town. Ngermalk trail is 10 minutes away walking. Great location to take tours to all the best locations within Palau.

Airport transfers would have been 44$ for one person. Excessive price. Snorkeling in front of their beach very bad, almost no visibility. Speed boats coming in with insane speed into the bay. Very dangerous for swimmers. Even though we asked before where we can swim, nobody warned about those crazy speed boats. We needed a SIM card. Lady at the reception tried to sell us one for 25$ !!! SIM cards in Palau cost 10 $ with already 8GB of data. We had a very bad experience with lots of scams in the Philippines just before coming to Palau. So having most of the hotel staff being from Philippines and witnessing this tried scam for SIM card, we cannot trust this hotel. AC super noisy. Neighbours smoking on balcony, so smoke ended up in our room when trying to get fresh air

Snorkeling Experience at Our Beach: We regret to hear about the low visibility you experienced while snorkeling at our private beach. The marine environment in Palau is influenced by tidal conditions, which can affect water clarity. Generally, visibility improves during high tide. Regarding speedboats entering the bay at high speeds, we have reported this issue to the relevant authorities. Local regulations mandate that vessels slow down within the Koror area. We will enhance our monitoring to ensure water safety and provide clearer safety guidelines upon check-in. SIM Card Inquiry: Our hotel does not directly sell SIM cards. During your stay, which coincided with Thanksgiving Day when the local telecom company (PNCC) was closed, we understood your urgent need for a SIM card. To assist, we inquired with nearby stores, which offered SIM cards at $25. We also informed you that PNCC operates from Monday to Friday. We will reassess our approach to such services to ensure more reasonable solutions for our guests. Air Conditioning Noise and Neighboring Smoking: We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the noisy air conditioning. Our maintenance team has addressed and resolved this issue. Regarding smoke entering your room from neighbors smoking on the balcony, all our guest rooms are non-smoking. We will strengthen our inspections and management to ensure all guests' comfort.
