How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI don’t know because we didn’t stay here. My booking was initially declined, message said problem with bank details, so I entered a different card and the booking was confirmed but when we got there the reception said she had sent me a message to say that she sent a message to say that they had nothing available, although it was still available on Booking.com. I didn’t see this message.
She found us another’hotel’ for similar price, but it was a small old and not so nice, but clean. We stayed there because it was the time of the carnavale so not much was available but I’ll never do it again

Verified reviewBreakfast was good, and that same restaurant serves dinner and drinks at night, but the drinks were better. There's a very good gym I enjoyed using to do some exercising, and the top has a great view of the city.
The pool looked disgusting and I refused to go in. Front office staff randomly locks entrance doors on you and expects you to know which one to use. Dinner food could have been better too.

Verified reviewRoom is roomy. Breakfast has eggs and bacon.
Front desk staff was not familiar with the tourist information around the city and they did not speak English. We had to use translator app. For the rate they charged, they could have hired one English speaking staff. We went to the city specially for the first parade of annual carnival. When asking front desk where and when we might see it, we were told that we would NOT be able to see it at all as the event would not start until one week later. Well, we later found out the critical information by asking the other customers in the hotel and didn’t not miss the event. A near miss for our travel plan! In addition, before we left we asked the taxi service to the bus terminal that was 500 meters away. They told us we had to pay the same price that we paid earlier from train station that was over three km. Something was not right here as the taxi’s starting price was much lower than that! So we decided to walk to the bus terminal for 7 minutes. I wish they could pay more attention to the details and take care of their customers better.

Verified reviewThe receptionist was very good, very helpful and charismatic. Honestly the only good thing I can remember.
Me, my family got food poisoning from the breakfast, the air conditioning units were full of dust and mold, the beds were way too soft for anyone's spine but a small child. The bedrooms are dark and have this "hourly rate motel" or "love motel" vibe, dark rooms, red sofas, with a heavy air from dust accumulated on all the velvet. Parking is kind of a block away from the hotel, so you have to walk at night in this weird neighborhood from and to your car.

Verified reviewThe LuxSur was comfortable, the staff was attentive and helpful, and the breakfast options were plenty. You can’t beat the price!
There was a crossing guard whistling early in the morning outside my window which woke me up until I started using a white noise app on my phone. The gym equipment could use updating (treadmills don’t work).

Verified reviewNothing!
It was horrible, after our arrival (the reception staff was rather unfriendly/unenthusiastic) they had a problem with the lock of our door. First they couldn’t get in anymore (our luggage was in there already and we couldn’t access it), then the lock mechanism would emit a loud beeping constantly which took a long time to solve as well. After almost two hours (it was almost 1am already and we were dead tired after a whole day of driving!) we were able to go to bed and sleep with a door that was more or less closed. We asked for a different room, which they couldn’t/wouldn’t provide and the whole process took place with super annoyed staff and without a single apology. The room (we had a deluxe suite) was not clean, especially not the bathroom. I don’t mind so much, that it’s super old fashioned and not renovated at all, but half the door frame hung loose (we were afraid it would fall on our heads) and the lack of cleanliness in the bathroom as well as the dubious stains on the velvet chairs were pretty annoying. For breakfast: We arrived at 9am and everything was empty. After asking they actually took care to refill most things. For Paraguay I would say it was a decent breakfast buffet (just don’t expect European standards). The rooftop terrace was closed unfortunately, the pool small and the water looked so brackish, that we decided against going in. Overall it wasn’t a nice experience at all. We never got a reply after asking for a reimbursement with all the trouble and the overall lack of friendliness was very uncommon compared to a lot of other experiences in Paraguay. I definitely can’t recommend this place! Take any other if you want to spend some time in Encarnacion!

Verified reviewLocation, close to buss station. Nice staff at reception
Gym - half of the equipment is broken Sauna - when it is heated it has a very strange odour. I changed my mind and did not go there Breakfast- good variety, but restaurant staff is very lazy and disrespectful. They will not bring more food until there is literally nothing left and you have to ask them twice . “Hot food” such as eggs, bacon , potatoes was cold . There were burners underneath, but they were not working . Fruits were very tasty and very good quality, but again, you have to ask them to bring more.

Verified reviewLuxsur has a great breakfast and the best coffee in town. The gym is excellent and the steam room is fantastic. The rooms are clean and there is actually hot water- not the electric showerhead that's usually found in hotels here in PGY.
I honestly can say anything negative about my experience.
