How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewBeautiful location, great views, heated pool, very close to St Gilles center. Nice rooms and specious balcony.
Some kind of air conditining/boiler in the main building was running the whole night, which was very loud. Smoking on balconies should be prohibited. Our neighbours smoked frequently and our room smelled like an ashtray within seconds. Pot hole in the access road needs to be fixed. What bothered us the most was the unhygienic breakfast conditions caused by a group of sparrows very aggressively searching for food. They were sitting on the tables, chair, and the counters, where they pooped on everything. Chair cushions and food covers on the table are covered in bird poop. Sparrows were eating from the spoons for the scrambled eggs. The hotel said there's nothing they could do. I disagree, as house sparrows are an invasive species and not protected. They transmit diseases, and this conditions are simply uncceptable for a hotel.
Good afternoon Thank you for your feedback. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay despite the problems you have faced. However, we are surprised and regret that you did not report the air conditioning and cigarettes smell issues to the reception during your stay. We could have quickly found a solution and changed your room if necessary. We understand that this may have disturbed you. However, smoking is not prohibited on balconies. Nevertheless, we encourage our guests to be mindful of their neighbors' comfort. Please also note that a receptionist is on site 24 hours a day to assist you in case of any issues. The road was damaged by our neighbors during their building work and will be repaired very soon. Finally, regarding the sparrows, their presence is a natural part of the environment and they are very common throughout the island. We understand that this may have been uncomfortable and we do our best to maintain the grounds regularly to limit any inconvenience. Best regards, Michel TANG

Verified reviewThe staff was incredibly helpful and nice. The restaurant was extremely good. If you don’t stay at this hotel, I would still advise eating once at La Parenthèse.
The room was small and right next to the bar and reception. The towels were all either ripped or with holes in them. Never been to a hotel that would offer this.
Good evening, we thank you for your message. We are delighted that you enjoyed our hotel. We are sorry about the towels. Your comment has been reported to the accommodation service. We hope to be able to welcome you next time.

Verified reviewRoom was really spacious with insanely comfortable bed. It was just hard to get up in the morning, however everytime super relaxed. Apartment was clean, and has been cleaned every time. Breakfast was good, but without lot of choices, with decent coffee. Once we had chance to try out dinner - that was amazing experience. Food that we had never tried before, served in the way of 5* restaurants. Brilliant. Staff was really kind and communicative in English. Good access to L'Hermiage, Cap Noire and other beautiful areas of west side of island.
Pro/con at the same time, open restaurant gives nice landscape of ocean view, but at the same time opens for birds, and that brings troubles, they were everywhere, gladly breakfast could have been protected with bird covers but it happened that chairs were freshly pooped or we found fresh poop around food. Variety of choices for breakfast is a bit poor, we spent 5 nights, 5 breakfast the same things. Currently access road is shared with construction site, sometimes takes moment to get into hotel as well as out, and parking lot is smaller than amount of rooms, thus if you come late you need to make parking yoga.
Hello, thank you for your great comment. We are delighted that you had a great time with us. We will share your positive experience with all the teams. However we are very sorry about the birds at breakfast. Please do not hesitate to inform the staff on site who will do their best to satisfy you. Concerning the construction work, our neighbors are currently working on the site. We have no control over any inconvenience the work may caused. We are also anxious that the work will be finished. Hope to see you again in our hotel. Latitude 21 Team

Verified reviewThe pool but no direct acces even we had the balcony what was front pool, otherwise the lady at the reception was very gentle
We ask for two plates and two forks the eat our noodles and watch a movie and they refuse to give us by saying the manager of the hotel restaurant didn’t want… I’ve been everywhere around the world and this problem never appear to be, I will make the manager thanks some lessons about managing hospitality facilities
Good morning, Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased you enjoyed the pool. We are very sorry about the mishap you have met. Indeed, you asked for plates, cutlery and glasses in the middle of the service around 8pm. Unfortunately, our restaurant team was unable to accommodate you and gave preference to restaurant guests dining that evening. Please note that eating inside the room is not recommended to avoid attracting pests to the establishment. We ask our customers to make their requests to the restaurant before opening hours in advance. Hope to see you again in our hotel despite that inconvenience. Michel - Premier de réception

Verified reviewA lovely hotel in a fabulous setting. Our room was impeccable, and we had a relaxing time at the pool. Breakfast was great, with incredible views down to the coast, and you really get a feeling of being in paradise: the hotel has great plantlife, and there is also an abundance of beautiful birds in the garden. The staff were very kind, and also very helpful with any questions about local attractions.

Verified reviewNice pool (which we had all to ourselves). Very good food in the restaurant. Friendly staff.
You are a bit further out so you have to drive to get to restaurants etc. Hotel restaurant is very upscale so you may not want to eat there every day. Breakfast not included and will cost 15 euro pp, which is overpriced. Restaurant menus in French only. They give dishes funny names making it hard to translate with Google Lens or translate. Staff unable to really translate either.
