  “I liked everything. The location, the staff, the food, the views. Our lodge was fantastic! Had views to the river. The price is great for a private room. I also have to say that they helped me with a little surprise for my husband that was celebrating his birthday. It was very cute, they arranged some flowers in the room and at dinner they sang happy birthday with a piece of cake. They also have activities in the river which we didnt do because we didnt have time.”

  “A comfy bed and a great view. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a good restaurant and a bar in the hotel area, also a nice pool. The hotel offers services, attractions and shuttles. They upgraded our room after we had a problem with the shower.”

  “Very close located to the entrance of Semuc Champey, this hostal offered clean rooms in a calm and green surrounding. The restaurant was good, we especially enjoyed our drinks in the evening. The staff is also very friendly, we enjoyed our stay there and would always return!”

  “Firstly, the location- located in the forest and walking distance from sumec champey it is ideal. We had the best walk down to sumec with the dog from the hostel showing us the way. Secondly, the people running the place where very happy to answer any of our (stupid) questions about the area or to help with Spanish. They made the property as good as it was and couldn’t have been any nicer.”

  “The room was a good size and had both a fan and air conditioning, though the AC comes at an extra cost. The bathroom was decent in size, with strong hot water. Outside the room there’s a small seating area, which is a pleasant spot to relax after a long day. There’s no fridge in the room, but when we asked, the staff kindly let us use some space in their kitchen fridge. The hotel is located right on the main road, so expect early traffic noise along with the usual chickens and dogs—earplugs are useful here. It’s a small town, and you can walk into the centre in just a few minutes, though it’s slightly uphill. Breakfast was not included in our rate, but the menu offered a good variety.”
