“David and Meli helped us plan our stay in Yanque (2 full days). They are very knowledgeable and gave tips and ideas. They were helpful organising guides, taxis, etc. David joined us for the wonderful hike to Fortaleza de Chimpa (1 hour by taxi, 200 Soles), a beautiful place to visit if you are fit enough to hike up a mountain in high altitude (~1,5 hours up, ~200m rise, well marked trail, you don't need a guide, gorgeous views, condors, sticks recommended). Yanque is very quiet, authentic and has a wonderful landscape. We made 3 beautiful hikes, went horse riding and ziplining. There are also thermal baths. Chivay is more lively, there are many more tourist shops and restaurants, but Yanque feels less touristy and more off the beaten track, with many local restaurants where you can enjoy a cheap and simple but tasty Peruvian menu and little shops where you can buy fruit, veggies, drinks, snacks and alpaca yoghurt The house has a lovely garden which you can enjoy when the sun shines in the afternoon.”
“Beautiful rooms, and Eddy was so helpful and kind - we left our luggage when we went on a trip to the Colca Canyon, and he made sure our taxi took us to the right bus station which could have been a disaster! Lovely breakfast.”
“Hotel Pachamama is a well oiled machine and a lot more than just a hotel. From beginning to end, the team facilitated transfers, equipment and provided suggestions for hikes. Our trip to Colca Canyon was amazing, in many parts thanks to the hospitality of Hotel Pachamama.”
“Superb hotel behind ordinary looking facade. Big clean rooms set around a pleasant courtyard. Very comfortable beds, chair and table provided, lots of storage space and clean private bathrooms. Excellent hot shower. Excellent rooftop terrace where a good breakfast is served and is a pleasant place to sit and admire the view of El Misti. Good location just a few minutes walk from Plaza de Armas. Staff very nice and helpful - facilitated early departure to Colca Canyon, stored our luggage while on trek, and booked a taxi to airport for 30 sol. Good wifi.
Highly recommend this hotel!!”
