“The place is noisy, the room is cold, the breakfast is not organized, and among all the hotel management not professional as they charged more than the amount booked online (on the pretext of birr devaluation). It is not fair that the hotel is given high score when booking online.”

“A lovely, spacious apartment, in a property run by a charming couple. The location is ten minutes walk to the stellae and church, also very close to Ethio Telecom and money changers. The owner and his wife were both responsive and caring. I had a memorable though short stay at Axum.”

“Lovely little guesthouse, spotlessly clean and easy walking distance to several of the key Axum sites. Ephrem, the owner/manager, was very welcoming, and made contact with me as soon as I made my reservation to confirm everything . He also organised a really excellent tour guide (Mekonen) for me through his tour company (Debradamotours@gmail.com).”

“The room was spacious, clean, and had a very comfy bed. The hotel has a great bar and restaurant with both local and Western food, plus free WiFi that actually worked. Staff were super helpful and spoke good English. The manager, Legesse, went above and beyond when a tour company forgot me, he got it sorted within the hour. Airport pickup and a private tour were all arranged smoothly. I also appreciated being able to exchange dollars at the front desk and get honest advice on how much I’d need for the trip. Overall, a safe, welcoming base in Axum.”
