  “Lovely new place in the middle of nowhere but in plain nature. You open the back door into the mangrove woods and water, cross the street and touch the wild Atlantic. Fantastic tours can be booked directly and simple at the Lodge. As there are no real facilities around like bigger shops or restaurants we got served perfect breakfast and meals by the nice lady running the house. No car, take a piroge or a caleche or a driver. The pool is marvellous, the AC is working, wifi leaking but everything else is worth going there.”

  “The rooms are very clean and the bed is very comfortable. There is no running water but the bucket works fine and everything is very clean! The staff is very very nice, warm and ready to help. They make the place as nice as it is. The location is very calm and relaxing. I spent a really calm day there reading in the hammocks.”

  “Everything! Celine is a total icon. She made us feel so at home that we are now considering moving to Toubacouta. The food, the room, the excursions - everything was made to suit us and every little detail was so thoughtful. What this wonderful couple don’t mention on their page is that they run a local NGO, helping the community through various ways. We plan to be back asap!”

The rooms are spotless, with tasteful decor and thoughtful touches throughout. Everything is maintained to the highest standard, reflecting a clear passion for hospitality. Villa Kounzo also helps you make the most of your time—they recommend great daytime activities and are happy to order excellent takeaway meals from nearby restaurants if you're staying in for the evening. The on-site bar is another highlight, offering cold, reasonably priced drinks including soft drinks, beer, and wine—a perfect way to wind down after a day of exploring. Villa Kounzo is far more than just a place to stay—it’s a haven of comfort, great food, and genuine hospitality where you feel like home. I left feeling completely recharged and already planning my return. Highly recommended!”

The location is great as well, the village is quite small but packed with beautiful places and beautiful.
