“Helpful owner. Ok rooms, a bit drab and dark, but fine for a short stay. Price is not too bad, considering expensive alternatives that are not much better. Nice small garden and pool.”

  • Lome Bamboo Lodge Review score: 10

“I booked Bamboo lodge at the last minute, without knowing what to expect and couldn't have got luckier. From the start, Christelle and her daughter Therese made my stay like a home from home. The property itself in Lome is very close to the airport and a short walk to the beach front, and easy to get to all the major places in the city I wanted to go to. The place itself was spacious and very secure. The rooms and bathrooms were spotlessly clean, roomy, and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was made by Therese on demand each morning and lovely. It’s much more than that though, after an initial question via Booking .com about airport transfers, Christelle enquired about my plans and if I needed any help. She ended up being basically a cross between a tour operator and your mum, suggesting places, advising on logistics and putting me in touch people who she personally would trust and recommend. Further more, when I came back from a trip up north, rather than go out and look for dinner, ate on her terrace at the family table, hearing fantastic stories of the places she’s lived and visited, and the history of the hotel. It really did feel like a family reunion and coming home to a long lost aunt. As a solo female traveller, this was just the icing on the cake. I can’t recommend this highly enough.”
