    “We stayed at Apartamento La Pista Sur for three nights in San Sebastián de la Gomera and really enjoyed our time. The apartment is small but comfortable and cosy, with plenty of natural light and lovely views from the large terrace, which is exactly our style. It felt very welcoming and had everything we needed for a short stay, making it a convenient and pleasant base for exploring the area. It is right in the centre, close to local shops and restaurants, and just a five-minute walk from the beach and the sea, which made it easy to enjoy the town. Because it’s slightly on a hill, you don’t feel like you’re right on the busy high street. We were lucky enough to find parking right in front of the entrance to the apartment, though of course this is just a matter of luck in such a central location. The area of San Sebastián can have loud music several nights a week throughout the year. During our stay, parties went on from 11:30 pm to 4 am, so it’s worth expecting some noisy nights anywhere in San Sebastián. We didn’t mind and embraced the music and culture, though we did wake up a few times during the night because of it. Our host was very responsive and kind over messages, always quick to answer our questions and provide helpful information, which made the stay even smoother. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a base in San Sebastián de la Gomera.”

    “This was a very nice find, but perhaps not a choice we would have made had we known more about what its location entails. We do wish the listing had shown a little more of the foggy weather which, after speaking to locals, we learnt often dominates this part of the island. All the photos show sunlit cottages and views, but our experience was quite different. Every time we left Casas del Chorro, just a few kilometres away, the sun was shining; however, weather by our accommodation was mostly cold, humid, and cloudy. It came as quite a shock after spending time in the west enjoying sunshine. We arrived in mid-July and even ended up using the fireplace in the apartment, as it was so chilly. It would have been helpful if the listing had given a more honest picture, showing a bit of both worlds. Of course, the weather cannot be helped, but since this seems to be a frequent occurrence, it feels fair to mention it. That being said, the main kitchen and living room area were lovely, with their tall ceiling. We also really enjoyed the terrace and the very friendly cats. The cleaners and maintenance staff were kind whenever we saw them, and the setting itself is magical, surrounded by lush vegetation.”

    “Beautiful original house in the quiet town of Agulo. Great place to explore the island from! House is beautiful and the couple who run it are lovely. We arrived very late off the boat and they were more than happy to help with check in, and parking. There is a kitchenette for cooking, comfy beds, everything was clean and quiet. Second time staying and will be back!”
