  • Beeches Guest House Review score: 10

“Easy check in, easy parking. Bedroom was lovely and fresh, bed was comfortable, linen was soft and fresh (I slept like a log). Shower room was clean, shower pressure was fab, towels were clean and fresh. There was a kettle with basic tea, coffee etc which was unexpected (there's also full access to a kitchen with tea/coffee etc downstairs.) Window was two velux but there was a pole to open so I had fresh air. I could hear noise from Victoria Street but that's to be expected - it's a busy street. I had Room 5 (double bed, en suite) but honestly couldn't tell you if it was back or front as I lost my sense of direction inside on the stairs! Wifi worked without a glitch. Breakfast is available down in the kitchen - bread, selection of cereal, milk, selection of jams. It's help yourself so very relaxed and in your own time This isn't a posh hotel by any means - but it did feel like staying at a nice relative's house - one who knows how to clean and make guests feel comfortable and welcome. For £45, I was absolutely delighted. It reminded me of B&Bs when I was young - no pretensions but clean and comfortable - and affordable! I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. :-)”
