  • ZAN Orient Beach Hotel Review score: 10

“We spent the last two nights of our honeymoon here and it was absolutely amazing. The hotel is calm, private and peaceful, with only six apartments, each offering a private pool and a stunning direct view of the ocean. The atmosphere is truly romantic and perfect for relaxing. The staff were wonderful, always smiling, attentive, and making sure everything was perfect. Breakfast was delicious, the service impeccable, and the location just 10 minutes from Paje makes it very convenient while still feeling secluded. It was very very big for just 2 of us, it’s just perfect pour a family of 4 or 5 They are planning to add two more apartments, but the construction is completely hidden and doesn’t disturb guests at all. A wonderful and unforgettable stay that we will always cherish!”

  • New Teddy's on the Beach Review score: 9

“Our favourite stop in Zanzibar (we explored many villages and beaches). Amazing spot in Jambiani, it’s quiet, you have all the tourist facilities you need, a bit of live music at night time, and you can observe the locals doing their activities on the beach. The outdoor space of the hotel is so nice, so many sunbends, you can enjoy your morning coffee and observe the tides. The outdoor bathroom was very comfortable and gave a cool summer feeling. The staff is great. With a 10.000 shillings Tuktuk you’re at Paje beach!”

  • Casa Paradis Boutique Hotel Review score: 10

“Casa Paradise, Jambiani – A Slice of Tranquillity If you're looking for a place where all your worries simply melt away, Casa Paradise is it. This adults-only retreat offers a chill and easygoing vibe that instantly puts you at ease. Every detail—from the soft beach towels to the warm, personal friendliness of the hosts—is thoughtfully planned and executed with love. The kitchen is a standout: fresh, creative, and hands down the best food we've had in years. Dining here is not just a meal, it's an experience. The hosts are truly amazing—welcoming, attentive, and full of local insight. They make you feel like part of the family. Things to Know About Jambiani: - Tides are significant: swimming is best at high tide, so a bit of research goes a long way. - The area is peaceful and not overly touristy, perfect for those seeking serenity. - Outside the hotel, activities are limited to ocean walks, kitesurfing, or organised tours. - The local people are incredibly friendly, but infrastructure is basic and poverty is visible—something to be mindful of as a visitor. - Pro tip: bring plenty of small dollar bills for tipping—taxi drivers, cleaners, and service staff all appreciate it.”

“Everything, the food was amazing specifically the pizza and breakfast. It was above our expectations and most of the staff were incredibly friendly and accomodating, helping us to book tours, taxis and organise our washing. The facilities were amazing and housekeeping were fantastic, everything was super clean. We really enjoyed our stay at mala boutique hotel and would definitely recommend it to others.
