“The setting is fantastic, the team is welcoming and the guides are good at their jobs. It was luxury being able to choose between great birdwatching around camp or lounging by the pool between the safaris!”

  • Muzanga Eco Guesthouse Review score: 10

“A wonderful and unique experience! A guesthouse in the bush that really feels like Africa with a huge baobab tree in the middle so beautiful that it looks like a fairy tale. The place is really neat and clean with beautiful and comfortable paths and cute vegetable gardens for growing vegetables. The bathrooms with showers were relatively close to the room, so it didn't bother me that much. The tent looked and felt even better than a bungalow and a house! The tent I had was big, comfortable, very fixed and well-equipped and really made you feel at home with the look of a tent with lots of ventilation windows. The food is great and fresh and there is a good menu and many types of vegetarian food. I tried everything and I loved it. There is a cute little pool and it was nice to splash around in it and catch some sun in front of the legendary baobab tree. The staff is lovely. Zaki, Richard, the cooker and the cleaner and of course the managers Sabine and Emma, and they help with everything you need and with safari trips and all possible information. I booked for four days and finaly ended up staying eight days in a row! I took two afternoon/evening safaris in Luangwa Park, one morning bush walking safari and one full day private safari at Luangwa! I saw all the animals including lions and leopards several times. The only thing I didn't get to see were lion cubs. There is also a trip to get to know the local community for those who are interested in local people living a village life. Highly recommend for those who are interested the idea, for those who want to forget about the city and have peace of mind and for those who want a quiet, beautiful and calm place in the bush with great staff, to feel Africa and be somehow close to the safari trips in south Luangwa.”

“I was there for an Earthwatch Expedition”

  • Camp Sabali & Safaris Review score: 9

“We (my wife and I) found this gem in the off-season period of March when most lodges are still shut. The clinching point for our choice was that on the Sabali website, Leon and his team conveyed a substantial appreciation of the diverse birdlife that was accesible in the park (and actually around the Sabali Lodge itelf). Both our guides (Akim and Moses) were exemplary and Akim had a profound knowledge of the birds and plants we encoutered. Leon was extremely generous with his time with us and also a very knowledgeable birder. We could not have wished for a more attentive and polite host. I personally learnt a lot from both him and Akim and was struck with how environmentally atuned the whole team were. Other than rhino we encountered all the usual beasts up close. We were lucky to witness lion and leopard almost every day. We saw Lucy's cubs (leopard) stalking impala and were pretty shocked to be caught in the midst of a baby buffalo kill by the local pride of lions. Sabali's diverse spreads were provided by Mary (the camp cook) and they were all scrumptuous with the highlight being the eggs benedict for one of the breakfasts.”
