    “This is an excellent, compact hotel close to the centre of Trieste. It is about a 20 minute walk from the railway station. The hotel is on a hill and the hotel's page on booking.com does warn that the property is accessed via 57 steps. The steps can be avoided on foot with a hilly detour or by taking a bus or a taxi. The hotel has an unusual layout that reflects the clever conversion of the original building on a sloping site. My ensuite room was excellently furnished, well equipped and surprisingly spacious. The staff were very helpful.”
