Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The rooms are located in the top floor of a house. Downstairs, there are shared areas including a fully equipped kitchen, a tv room with comfortable seating, and a terrace. The owners really made you feel at home.

The house itself is designed to permanently host a family, not specially for renting, so the rooms don't have separate bathrooms. But for us that was not a problem, we traveled with our family of 4, and and we enjoyed it to the max. Large rooms, white furniture, relaxing, natural colors. Nice terrace outside. Spacious kitchen.

It is not related to the host itself but with the municipality - there is a stream of water on the other side of the street from the property. It is heavily polluted and it is a shame for a city as Targu Jiu. While you are inside of the facility there is no issue but when you step down from your car - hold down on your nose.

It required about a 15-minute walk to reach the main attractions of the city, which, while not overly inconvenient, might not suit those seeking a more central location. Additionally, the shared shower and bathroom facilities could sometimes be a bit of a waiting game and less private than some travelers might prefer. However, these minor inconveniences were balanced by the otherwise warm and welcoming atmosphere of the place, making it a reasonable choice for budget-conscious travelers.
My recent stay at this charming place was a delightful experience. The friendly owner's warm hospitality added a personal touch to the visit, making me feel truly welcome. The well-kept yard provided a peaceful escape, perfect for unwinding and enjoying the outdoors. The coziness of the place was a comforting retreat, offering a sense of relaxation and tranquility. The rooms were thoughtfully designed, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant stay. Overall, it was a lovely haven that I would happily return to for another memorable stay.

Everything was perfect, nothing to complain about.
The location was beautiful and unexpected, a house in a backyard, spacious, clean, in a quiet neighbourhood and close to the main park. Would have loved to stay more. Highly recommend!

When we arrived at the house we rang the doorbell but no one answered. We were there for over 15 minutes, sent messages…, and no one answered, even though there was a light inside. Outside, they had two dogs, and one of them kept barking at us. We had to make a reservation to get into another hotel that same day and Casa File de Poveste didn’t respond to Booking's an us refund request.
We didn't stay at Casa File de Poveste because we couldn't get in. We tried to contact the property and have never received a response and they didn't serve us (we never got in).

The location of the hotel is not correct on google maps so I spent almost 1 hour searching for the exact location. Then after finding the hotel it appeared that no one is inside. I stayed outside for 40 minutes waiting for someone go show up which never happened and I had some issue with my phone so I couldn't call the lady so thankfully at the end I found some neighbour who gave me his phone so I can call and be directed to my room. Just want to mention that I was directed on the phone which one is my room without any further explanations about anything really and no one showed up until maybe 9 in the evening. Except that the shower head was leaking so when I took a shower the entire bathroom was filled with water but for whatever reason there was no canal made for such cases so I had to use the mop left there to dry the water a little bit, because I couldn't manage to dry it all. Also there is no air conditioning in the rooms so the sleeping is a nightmare including the mosquitos who enter from everywhere even when the antimosquito device is connected. I have been to more that 8 different countries in all kinds of hotels and guest houses and even campings but such attitude towards guest I have never exeperienced. I am extremely dissapointed and will never visit that place again.
