Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BelgiumEverything was perfect! It`s like travelling back in time, authentic Transylvanian houses and furniture, carefully restored and kept very clean. If you are more into modern style, it`s not for you. But if you like nature, castles and amazing food, this is the best place. The real strength however are the people, from the Count`s family to cooks and clerks, they would do everything to make sure you have a great time. Don`t miss the Castle (c`est "l`incontournable"), the carriage tour around the village (my 9 year old son enjoyed it a lot) or the bear watch trip. They have a very good house wine, mise en bouteille au chateau, liked it so much that we bought some for home. If you plan a trip here, check the dates for the summer castle concerts, these are truly magical. Certainly coming back next summer.

The staff were friendly. When we arrived we were given a glass of the local brandy which was a nice touch. The rooms were quirky, interesting and comfortable. The breakfast was good and it was fun having our evening meal in the cellar with a roaring fire.

HungaryI would recommend to somehow widen the list of activities.
the property is absolutly amazing, we and our kids fell in love with it instantly. Its very authentic, which is what we wanted, a journey through time in an way. The room was very beautiful, the food in restaurant is excellent, its a set menu, but they can do adjustment if you have any food restriction (which we had). Not all the advertised activities were available, but we had a great time baking chimney cake and whatching bears from hide.

RomaniaA nail under an old table in the restaurant that ripped my pants; a large disproportionality between the price of a fixed menu dinner for one person and what is offered;
Cleanliness; staff was very warm and welcoming; good breakfast; bottled water refill in the room on request; the existence of a bidet in the bathroom;

United KingdomShame the Stone Pub was shut while we were there.
Amazing experience - quirky rooms with vintage furniture, but excellent bathing arrangements. Wonderful to eat under the trees at the manor house - hearty rustic food. Local produce for breakfast.

RomaniaThe breakfast was poor, no fruits or sweets, for an egg I found out afterwards I should ask for…The dinner tasty, simple local recipes, I guess that’s why is attractive for foreign tourists who are willing to try/taste something else. I personally prefere to be combined more with modern style for a plus of comfort. For example it was very cold in the room(chilly April weather)even if it was a small radiator extra. The beds weren’t very comfortable. The personnel in restaurant is nit very available.
Situated near the castle, accomodation has a large yard, with tiny houses, refurbished and cozy. It is very silent, relaxing area where you can enjoy fresh air. Everything is restaurate in a good condition and kept all original elements.

We've very much enjoyed the quietness of the village. The food was amazing, simple and yet very good. The room was cosy and wonderfully decorated with vintage objects. There's tea and water in the room. The breakfast was also very good.

United StatesThe kitchen staff was grumpy and not gracious. Dinner was good but breakfast deteriorated over our three day stay. On our third day we got to breakfast on time but they were out of coffee, hot tea water, napkins and bread. The lady from the kitchen staff ignored us.
The restored rooms furnished with antiques were unique and beautiful. The setting in a small country village( not a tourist town, but a real working farm country village) was wonderful. Utilla was a good host suggesting a great country hike for us and conducting the tour of the Castle.

RomaniaThe communication skills and proactivity need improvement: - the reservation confirmation email (and also the website) stated that the reception is at the Stone Pub. When we arrived, there was no one there. Before arrival, someone from the accommodation called me to check our arrival time, it would’ve been great to tell me where should I go for check in. I had to call him twice in order to understand where to go, eventually we met in the street 🙂 - we asked about “cozonac secuiesc” cooking lesson - the answer was simply that it will be on Sunday afternoon, not a convenient time for people checking out on Sunday. There was no effort made to find an alternative time or to propose a different activity - after I made the reservation I had several emails exchange with someone from the property regarding meal prices. To my surprise, at check out I saw that the actual prices were higher, I told that to the person in charge and all that I got was a shrug. The issue is not about the price difference but the attitude and communication Food was good quality but flavorless.
It’s a quiet and peaceful place, the room was clean and beautifully renovated. Nice and helpful cooking ladies.
