Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

RomaniaIt is difficult to open the bathroom window. From our bathroom you could hear in the bathroom of the people next door. Did not provide toiletries items (no shampoo for ex for the swower)- it had only soap at the sink.
Very nice room design. Very friendly host. Extremly clean. Comfy beds. Location close to the center and to Deva citadel. You have free parking on the street the house is situated on. House with historical significance.

Canada-
One of the best accommodations options in Deva, and we went to many of them throughout the years! The location is perfect, on a quiet street adjacent to the old town, steps away from all the interesting places: the Citadel, the Museum, the Municipal Park, Decebal National College, the railway/bus station, shopping, bakeries, coffee places, good restaurants, etc. The rooms are at the first floor of the Unitarian Hungarian Church, which is only used as such for a couple of hours on Sunday morning for mass, thus not an inconvenience at all, for anybody! The chappel itself is in a side room, so the worshipers and the house guests do not interfere with each other if they don't want to. The building is spectacular, with high ceilings and dark wooden beams and floors, having that medieval feel some people look for while vacationing in Europe. The personnel of the guesthouse are the nicest possible, helpful, accommodating and easily accessible, even after hours. The rooms are rather small and with minimal furnishings, but, in our view, more than sufficient. The bathrooms are good sized and brand new, a pleasant surprise, especially their sparkling cleanliness. We stayed for 5 days and felt very comfortable throughout, loved the fact that it was one of the cleanest and best maintained rental places we ever went to in Romania, kudos to the hosts for keeping this heritage building in impeccable shape! We wholeheartedly recommend this place, and undoubtedly will be back, thank you Lorand and crew!

United StatesThe beds were comfortable but the twin beds are more narrow than a standard twin bed. I was fine with it but it might not be as comfortable for a larger person.
The area was very quiet and the location was very good. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was nice to have access to a kitchen and fridge.

RomaniaIt was just perfect. Congratulations for the amazing work you did with renovating this building. 👏
Amazing stay, it was above our expectations. The old building was extremely well renovated in 2021.You can fee the energy of the house. Everything was sparkling clean. From the roof window in room 6, you can see the fortress and the stars. You have a view of the sky from bed and from the bathroom :). It was hot but the air conditioning was ok. Downstairs, you have everything you need, and you will see very beautiful wooden stairs. The host is friendly and gives you all the details you need.

RomaniaSuch a nice location, close to the city centre and the lovely park. The room was very clean and comfortable. The window faced the backyard so it was also quiet. Perfect stay for a few nights for a solo traveller like me. It's already my 3rd summer when I come and stay here, so I highly recommend it.

United StatesThis are not criticisms in any way, just somethings that travelers need to know ahead of time The rooms are on the 1st floor (in the European sense; 2nd floor for those from the US) of the building, and the stairs would be difficult to impossible to negotiate for people with mobility difficulties. There is no elevator. Also, all units are loft-style, with slanted ceilings. Not only tall people (I am definitely not of them) have to be careful if they want to avoid too close encounters between their heads and the slanted parts of the ceilings :-o)
Outside my own home, this is probably the best place I ever stayed at. I have a fairly solid reference system as besides my home country, I lived in South Africa and Sweden; now I live in the US; and traveled extensively in Europe, Africa and North America. I cannot recommend this place enough. The rooms might look spartan for those expecting more "flourish", but the simple and functional style fits perfectly with my way and view of life. The prices are commensurate with the simplicity of the place. A fully furnished kitchen and dining space on the ground floor are available for those that want to use them. In addition, each room has a tiny fridge, so one can keep cold drinks or perishable snacks at hand. Parking for one vehicle is available on a first come-first served basis in the property's little yard. Alternatively, plenty of free street parking is available. Will return gladly whenever I will be in the area. In fact, I am doing so within 24 hrs., as I have more business in Hunedoara County. The rental units are in the building of the intimate Unitarian church of Deva. Fear not, there is no interference between religion and guests. Besides a picture of the largest of the six rooms at the property (with the exception of which the other five rooms sleep two each), I include a few interior pictures of the church, because it is such a serene and unobtrusive space. There are literally no religious symbols in it. It is decorated with beautiful and genuine Transylvanian Hungarian embroidery and pottery. On the outside, the building is just another regular house on this extremely tranquil street, right in the middle of town. It is within walking distance of a small park, the Magna Curia Palace (aka Bethlen Palace, built in 1621; now the home of the Museum of Dacian and Roman Civilization with history, art, natural history, and numismatic collections), and the emblematic Deva fortress; as well as only minutes away from shopping and dining. Amazing!

HungaryIt's in the attic, so the ceiling is very low, you can only stand upright in the bath. Because of its location, it must be also very hot in the summer.
