One of the most beautiful boutique hotels I’ve experienced in Romania. Tastefully furnished in a typical Saxon (Siebenbürgen) farmhouse, with antique furniture, Romanian folk art, a peaceful garden, and delicious food. The landscape around Viscri reminds me of Cornwall – no wonder Prince Charles fell in love with the area. He owns a residence and has also funded a museum in the village.

Every dish we tried was beautifully presented and packed with flavor, clearly made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Just a general observation about the village, not the accommodation itself: for those looking to truly enjoy the peaceful charm of Viscri, I’d recommend avoiding bank holidays if possible—weekdays are even better. While the village is very well organized and everything is within a 5-minute walk from the parking area, many tourists still park along the main road, which unfortunately takes away from the beauty of the traditional houses.

My husband and I have visited Viscri 32 for lunch or dinner on several occasions, but this was our first time staying overnight at the barn—and it did not disappoint. The food, as always, is delicious and made with local ingredients, but this time we also got to experience the charm of the beautifully designed rooms and the peaceful sleep that comes with the village’s quiet atmosphere. There’s a lovely remote path from the garden to the parking area—don’t miss it, it’s a really nice walk. We’ll definitely be back for a longer stay.

Nice to have a restaurant in the main house as we’re unable to find food otherwise. Beautiful outdoor sitting out back and everyone knew how to make good espresso drinks. Fun to see a bit of history preserved. Fun to see who’s at the restaurant as we came and went through the day.

Only regret is we could not stay longer! Would definitely return. I rarely give 10/10 but this is fully deserved.

Absolutely everything. The restoration of this barn accommodation is outstanding, with a lovely bedroom featuring traditional furniture and fabrics, super shower room and wooden beams. The food in the restaurant was delicious and all local, with their own jams, relishes and drinks on sale at reception. Breakfast similarly yummy. The garden is a delight for eating outside and the staff and owner-manager charming and helpful. Loved the fortified church, the countryside and the hefted cows returning home along the main street at 8pm with goats, geese and dogs.
