How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewWe booked this apartment for two nights, but from the moment we arrived, we were disappointed. The furniture was old and worn-out, which was the first thing we noticed. It was quite hot, so we wanted to turn on the air conditioner, but there was no remote control anywhere to be found. We tried contacting the owner several times to ask how to use the AC, but all our messages were ignored. Later, we discovered that the air conditioner wasn’t even connected to the power supply, even though it was listed as an amenity on Booking. The apartment lacked basic necessities—there weren’t even any napkins or tissues. When we tried to take a shower, the hot water lasted for less than a minute, followed by warm for another minute, and then just cold. That was the fastest shower I’ve ever taken. Overall, this was a terrible experience. These were by far the worst apartments we’ve stayed in during our time in Sremski Karlovci. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Thank you for rewiev🙂 I'm sorry that you were our guest and not the guest of one of our enemies.. what would the people of "marathon" say... But we don'thave enemies, so we'll take this kind of dissatisfacion on ourselves. We are also sorry than you have possibility of trying to spoil someone's previous work with a bad grade. Fortunately, over 100 rewiews so far talk about our apartmens and our attitude toward guests, all the opposite of yours. Furniture.... even 6 months old, really a lot... Equipment... Two tv, two air conditioners, set kitchen, terrace, grill and not to mention... bored I would like to write... Air conditioners in April??? Equal to heating in August, I really don't see the reason for including it while working still radiators!!! And all this bicause you didn't wont to pay the residence tax of 4,80 euros. Really pathetic. Of course we came to meet you ang did not charge that famouz fee. We will also forgive you for this rewiew. We Serbs are big-hearted people. There is also something that we are happy about, and that is that we believe that yuo will no longer be our guest, nor the guest of any of colleagues, at least in Sremski Karlovci. PS Wi wish you all the best in life, and belive me, a little laughter is not out of place. So much nagging didn't do anyone any good...

Verified reviewIt’s very cozy, clean and comfortable house. Hosts are very kind and careful people, always ask how’s accommodation and is everything fine? Also in this apartment you’ll have good technical equipment and fast WiFi connection, it’s possible to work from here. Also it’s very nice garden with BBQ zone and outdoor furniture.

Verified reviewVery friendly host who made us feel very welcome. Studio has everything you need with the bonus of a washing machine. An outside area to sit is also very nice. Very close to town centre. We enjoyed our two nights in this area very much and recommend this accommodation and Serbia as a country to visit is extremely friendly towards tourists.

Verified reviewThe appartment was huge and extremely nicely furnihsed. The kitchen was very well equiped and had everything one might need for cooking or making breakfast. Everything was clean and comfortable (ok, the bathroom could be a bit bigger and have some shelves to put things to), also because of a very well working AC, there's also a huge garden (where you can also park behind the fence) and a terrace for each of the two appartments.
