How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewInexpensive for the promo I booked. the admin team really cares a lot about the facility. It’s a new hostel. Daniel works a lot and Lots of signs and direction. Warm shower. AC. They are still adding things though like lockers, etc, 2nd bathroom finished
I decided to checkout early due to other guests and facilities. I found not so much respect for others. E.g., playing music loudly after quiet hours, constantly enter and exiting dorms / slamming doors, turning on and off AC unit during the night / morning. Piles of dishes and scraps in the morning. The single hot plate also made it not as feasible to cook regularly - recommend maybe another unit. Mosquitos do come in through the garden view bedroom - maybe some nets could fix this. Also adding a dedicated AC plug so that someone doesn’t have to stop charging their phone to put on AC on was something I notice Been in few hostels before so I know, takes time to find a rhythm. Guest issues isn’t managements fault but it would be worthwhile to see how this could be improved - some reviews said similar things before I booked if memory serves
Thank you for your detailed feedback and for recognizing the effort we put into building and improving our hostel. We truly appreciate your kind words about our team, cleanliness, facilities, and the work Daniel does to make everything run smoothly. We are still a new hostel, and as you noticed, we are continuously adding improvements such as lockers, the second bathroom, and additional equipment to make our guests more comfortable. Suggestions like adding another hot plate, mosquito nets, and an extra socket for the AC are very helpful — they are already on our list of upgrades. Regarding the issues you experienced with other guests, we understand how important it is to respect quiet hours and shared spaces. While we cannot always control individual behavior, we do take action when things are brought to our attention, and your feedback encourages us to be even more proactive in maintaining a peaceful environment. Thank you again for staying with us and for helping us grow with your suggestions. We hope you’ll visit us again in the future and see the improvements firsthand. Best regards, Brodskys Cat Team

Verified reviewI stayed here for three nights and had a very positive experience. The staff were incredibly friendly, polite and helpful. The rooms are spacious, the dormitory was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the shower had hot water 24/7. The location is perfect, close to the main attractions and public transport, actually just 10 mins by walk from the main area. There is one big supermarket the next door and one supermarket 3 mins away. The free Wi-Fi was fast. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to other travelers and backpackers 😊

Verified reviewSupermarket right in front A/C in the dorms The cheapest option in Novi Sad
Aircon system leaking right above the main entry door Only one shower for the entire hostel Kitchen is a mess every morning Owner is borderline rude and has a never ending list of rules (and if not followed they all are incurring ridiculous fines) and won’t hesitate to remind them to you quite abruptly . Not the warmest nor most welcoming guy You have to take off your shoes which is fine but many people still walking with shoes on inside. Floor by the of the day is not the cleanest Very limited spaces to seat and always taken by long term residents leaving you very little option to seat Outdoor balcony available as long as you can deal with the smell of tobacco Shower drainage is non existent and within a few second your are ankle deep in water and then overflowing into the bathroom floor Kitchen has one highly stool only to sit on If you want to use the small lockers you have to pay a daily fee (that a first in a hostel ) Bed are not the comfiest and bunk bed aren’t attached so moves quite a bit. You can also feel the plank under your mattress Quite a walk from the main sites Resident cat (nice cute cat ) so be aware bog you have any allergy
Thank you for your review, although it reads more like a set of contrived complaints than a genuine account of a stay. We are always open to constructive criticism and take remarks into account for improvement, but in this case the comment appears more like an attempt to tarnish the hostel than an honest experience. To clarify: The air conditioner operates properly; there are no leaks. Any water outside drips from the roof and does not affect guest comfort. The hostel has two toilets and a shower cabin; the toilets are new and fully functional, and the drainage works without issue. Cleaning is carried out regularly. The kitchen is also cleaned after each use. In the morning a minor mess may appear only because some guests cook and do not always wash up immediately. We have no “fines.” What is meant is the standard luggage-storage service before the official check-in time of 14:00 (€5), which is common practice in budget hostels. The house rules are standard for all hostels and exist solely to maintain order and comfort. Shoes are indeed removed to keep the premises clean—this is also common practice in many hostels. There are sufficient lounge areas, arranged in line with the number of beds. The balcony is the only smoking area; the air inside the premises is always fresh. Lockers are free for long-term guests; for short stays a symbolic fee applies. The beds are standard, sturdy, and comfortable, as many guests note—you are the first to have required a “special bed” in our modest budget hostel. The hostel is just a 10-minute walk from the center, as confirmed by numerous positive reviews. Our cat is a favorite among guests and a point of pride; almost all satisfied guests mention him. We always treat our guests with respect and never allow ourselves rudeness. Unfortunately, in this case dissatisfaction with having to wait for check-in has turned into a deliberately biased and inaccurate comment. A reminder: check-in is strictly from 14:00; before that time we are cleaning. And to our esteemed guest, we would advise a little more simplicity and a kinder heart: spite and rudeness tend to lead to constipation and indigestion.

Verified reviewIt is very ok for short stay. I stayed one day so it was nice. You can meet people here, which is not so common in other hostels in Novi Sad. It has ok atmosphere. Beds were actually fine. Beautiful area all around it makes it very very cool place to be in, not to mention the old style house it is located in. This is why shoes have to be taken off, and that's perfectly fine.
It's a bit strange that there isn't a single door that locks anywhere. Yes, Serbia is safe country in general (I actually know, I am Serbian :) ), but come on :) at least something, would've been fine. There isn't even the locker for my things....yes you heard that right, no locker. The guy working just repeated several times that it is normal (with the face expression as if I asked for a nuclear reactor, not a key). Then, it is perfectly normal for me to mention it here. :)
Thank you very much for your feedback! 🌿 We would like to clarify a few points. Of course, our hostel has lockers, but unfortunately, during your stay they were already occupied — apparently, everyone wanted a little “exclusive access.” As for the doors, we keep them open so that guests can come and go freely — especially considering there’s a shop and a café right nearby. Of course, we can allow this because we have on-site security, a safety button, and surveillance cameras. Plus, there’s a police station nearby and attentive neighbors, so everything is well under control. We would be happy to welcome you again and will do our best to make your next visit even more “peaceful and secure”!

Google maps shows the location couple of meters away of the real position but still on the same street.
