Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Bosnia and HerzegovinaI really enjoyed my stay at the hostel – it felt warm and welcoming from the start. The staff and volunteers were wonderful, always kind and ready to help, and the atmosphere made it easy to feel at home. I especially loved the cozy little moments, like spending time with the hostel cat, which made the place even more special.

ItalyThe mattresses need to be replaced. One of the 2 bathrooms is very tiny, just aim for the one on the right hand side 🤙 If you have a suitcase, the cobble road and the lack of lift is not practical.
The staff is simply amazing, I wish I had always had this amazing hospitality everywhere I've been! Super helpful with everything. They even cooked for us guests an amazing fun Halloween dinner. The shuttle service to and from the airport is very handy and on time. I loved the rooftop terrace and the friendly and chilled atmosphere of the hostel. Super cool vibes! Amazing location, you can walk anywhere. The hostel itself is in the pedestrian area. There is also a very cool market just 2 minutes away on foot. It is a small hostel (about 18 beds in total I believe), but everything is very clean and cosy. You do feel at home all the time. Quiet times are strict. You get a towel free of charge and a locker. I was there in autumn, but I noticed that there was also the aircon in the room. Very good value for money. The cat is sweet but moody 🤣

North MacedoniaGuests over 170 cm tall who like to sit up in bed should request a top bunk or single bed. I am 180 cm and could not sit up straight on the bottom bunk, which made me feel unusually claustrophobic. Also, Serbia (tying with Bulgaria) has the highest rate of smoking in Europe. Smokers dominate outdoor spaces: Balconies, patios, decks, and other places that would have fresh air and may have the best views are for smokers -- either active or passive. Outside any building, people may smoke in the doorway, at tables, while walking down the street, while standing at a bus stop or in line, while working, etc., without any attempt to prevent nonsmokers (including children) from being exposed. Though the smoking situation is similar throughout the Balkans, smoking is especially prevalent in Serbia. Some restaurants in this neighborhood may not even provide a non-smoking area at all. When a restaurant server in Belgrade asks you, "Do you smoke," they just want to know if they should get you an ashtray. At two different restaurants, I also observed servers smoking on the job while standing INSIDE the doorway. As long as the door is open (e.g., in the summer), smoking just inside is acceptable. So clean air is rare in busy public places. Of course inside the hostel, smoking is strictly prohibited, and if you're familiar with the Balkans, you can expect that the balcony and rooftop are where people go to smoke.
Central location. Friendly host with a good sense of humor! Very clean. Rules for cleanliness and quiet were made clear and taken seriously. Spacious lockers and towels provided. There are two bathrooms. The hostel offers to print out bus tickets (etc.) for guests. The hostel was not too crowded.

SerbiaGreat little hostel in the city center close to all main attractions and few seconds from amazing farmers market where you can get fresh vegetables and fruits. The staff were kind and welcoming, very clean and quiet during night, bathrooms with free shower gels but what I liked more is having nice conversation with other travelers and chilling on the rooftop terrace. Definitely highly recommended.

BelgiumThere is nothing I can complain about.
What I liked most is the staff. Very cordial people who are happy to show you around Belgrade and create a friendly atmosphere in the hostel itself. They take the time to have a chat with you and there is always somebody around day and night. In addition, everything is cleaned up nicely every day and I have the feeling that the people who specifically book this hostel also have respect for hygiene and each other's stuff(as one should, but it's not always the case), if not, they have put up some funny posters encouraging nudging ;). The room I stayed in was for 8 people and was spacious enough and above all even though, we were with eight, I never had any disturbance in my sleep. they have a rule to be silent from 22pm-8am, which you are reminded of if you are being to loud, to me this was a big plus, because it was a reminder to take each other into account. They have 2 bathrooms fully equiped, which prevents waiting lines in the morning. A great asset they also have is: the terrace. It's great to sit there in the morning or after your day in the lively city of Belgrade to cool down. Although it's right in the city, it's hidden from the all the outside noise. The decor is very warm and a bit reminiscent of staying with Phoebe from "Friends." The theme of the decorations is centered around spirituality/witchcraft and at first it seemed a bit much, but by the end of my stay I could appreciate the many bells and whistles and even began to miss them. I am very grateful that this hostel was in the Lonely Planet guidebook and that it was one of the first places I went during my solo trip. This definitely put up the standard for future hostels. To the owner, staff and Toma: Keep up the good work! Together you make a gem of this hostel:) See you soon!
