How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewI really enjoyed my stay at the hostel – it felt warm and welcoming from the start. The staff and volunteers were wonderful, always kind and ready to help, and the atmosphere made it easy to feel at home. I especially loved the cozy little moments, like spending time with the hostel cat, which made the place even more special.

The cozy little moments with Toma, our noble feline familiar, and Sirius, our cheeky kitten-apprentice, are indeed part of the house’s enchantment—they never fail to leave their pawprints on guests’ hearts (and luggage, if unattended). Air condition in room no 4 might be a bit more quiet, but that's a minor thing. Everything else was great!

Some say it’s the bones of the building breathing, others say it’s something older and darker. We don’t argue with it. We just let it sing. Safe travels, dear guest. Verified reviewCommon areas were very clean and it was so close to the famous bars and close to the everywhere in Belgrade. It had perfect location. There is a great balcony to smoke. Bunker had a curtain. Funny owner. 2 clean bathrooms with funny posters.
Im so sorry to say that but I think this place is a little overrated. This was my second hostel in Belgrade and this one shouldnt have the same rate with the previous one. Bunker wasnt cosy at all, it was small and not comfortable for big guys. (Im 181 cm, 95 kg) I have suspects about bedbugs. :( 0 events. Social area and the kitchen was too small and its closing at nights because its very close to the rooms. The balcony was also closing, so you had to go downstairs (2 floors) and smoke outside of the building. No elevator. Whole area was too small. 8-bed room has windows but they are only in control of the 2 guests. One was sick and I got also sick because of him. I had not able to open the window to get some air. Everyone (both workers and the guests) seemed unpleasent to be in this hostel. So I didnt ask anything to them, on my last day before my flight, I just turned back to my previous hostel, rested in their social area and asked my last questions. They were really happy to see me again, they remembered my name and showed their hospitality which I had missed. Please dont take it personally, Im writing this comment in good faith, maybe you can change some things in the future :)
Thanks for the compliments - clean, central, “funny owner” - we agree! As for the rest: no bedbugs (not here, darling - we’re obsessive about cleanliness and we’re meticulous), no elevator (never claimed we had one), and no late night balcony smoke parties (we are a hostel, not a hookah lounge). We respect other guests’, and our neighbors’, sleep in peace! Getting sick isn’t our fault, and if “everyone seemed unpleasant,” maybe it wasn’t them. We know who we are - cozy, clean, and full of personality. Not for everyone. Especially not for drama in disguise. Not everyone gets the vibe - and that’s okay. But don’t dress up a hit piece as “helpful advice” and expect applause. Next time, just say “I wanted more attention” and go. Safe travels, darling. We’ll be here - still funny, still ourselves, still unbothered.

The hostel is centrally located, has a cosy and cute atmosphere, is extremely clean, with comfortable beds, good bathroom and kitchen facilities, and friendly, knowledgable, and helpful staff. I can’t recommend this place enough, a truly wonderful hostel. Thanks to Dragan, Nikola, and the staff for making my stay too-notch.

Verified reviewThe staff is simply amazing, I wish I had always had this amazing hospitality everywhere I've been! Super helpful with everything. They even cooked for us guests an amazing fun Halloween dinner. The shuttle service to and from the airport is very handy and on time. I loved the rooftop terrace and the friendly and chilled atmosphere of the hostel. Super cool vibes! Amazing location, you can walk anywhere. The hostel itself is in the pedestrian area. There is also a very cool market just 2 minutes away on foot. It is a small hostel (about 18 beds in total I believe), but everything is very clean and cosy. You do feel at home all the time. Quiet times are strict. You get a towel free of charge and a locker. I was there in autumn, but I noticed that there was also the aircon in the room. Very good value for money. The cat is sweet but moody 🤣
The mattresses need to be replaced. One of the 2 bathrooms is very tiny, just aim for the one on the right hand side 🤙 If you have a suitcase, the cobble road and the lack of lift is not practical.
