How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We are sorry to hear that you had no luck with your dorm roommates, unfortunately that is something we cannot control. Yes, it is true that we do not have separate male and female dormitories, but it is written on all booking sites. We are also sorry if you think the price is high for a hostel, however the price of an overnight stay is determined by several parameters, feel free to take a look at the same in the city center of other capitals. Verified reviewI had a very comfortable stay at this hostel. The bed was great, everything was new and clean, and the kitchen was well-equipped and easy to use. The staff were friendly and helpful. Perfect location in the city center — would definitely stay again!
It was quite noisy at night since the windows face a street with restaurants and bars. I recommend bringing earplugs if you're a light sleeper.

Verified reviewPerfect location, clean accomodation, friendly stuff, good way to make friends from around the wourld. Actually, it is really good hostel, I could be quite happy with my stay if i didn't have an accident.
The thing that made me disappointed is laundry service .Having paid 9 euros, I gave my clothes for washing, when I returned it, i found some red- ish or orange-ish stains o on my white shirt, the same, that they sometimes have on their white bedsheets ( when I pointed it out, they said it's okay, it's clean) I didn't have time to argue because i needed to go further in my travel. So now i feel frustrated because of this fact.

Verified reviewI was here 6 years ago when it was named Revellers hostel. I went here again now and was NOT disappointed. I ended up extending my vacation just to stay longer. As a solo traveller this place is the spot to be in. I made friends for life in just a few days, i never laughed so much and has so fun in a hostel before. And the staff are really the cherry on top. Andjela, Andjela and Jovana all have vibrant, charming personalities and are at the same time extremely service minded. I never saw anyone have a request that they would not fullfil, and they made sure that everyone had the best time. Also not to forget Sub, who is doing bar crawls and at the same time taking care of the mood in the hostel, he is the greatest guy. Some days i barely left the hostel just because the vibe was so nice. AND even if you don’t want to hang out with people and just want to see Belgrade, this is still the perfect place. It is located in the middle of the cities nicest street, everything is nearby. Also the hostel was very clean!

Verified reviewThe mattress was really high quality (compared to other hostel beds). Staff was nice but somehow I'd polish the process of payment at the property; it would be just much easier to be able to pay through the Booking platform. The location is quite central so it will get noisy at night but windows are good.

I was told by reception that payment was cash only and had to go all the way to exchange money after a long flight to make payment. Guests after me paid via card felt a bit unfair

Verified review⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had a great stay at this hostel! The staff were very friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with anything I needed. The room was clean, good air conditioning, and fast WiFi. The location is perfect, close to everything. I met some amazing people and really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Verified reviewGood location, close to republic square and a main bus area. Lots of great food options and coffee shops within walking distance. Pretty good social atmosphere.
I stayed in a 6-bed mixed dorm. There are only 4 toilets total for all shared rooms in the hostel and 3 showers. 2 of the toilets are behind a door with a code and the other 2 are in the common area so you’re sharing them with absolutely everyone and one of the toilets also has a shower in it so was often in use. Shower floors were extremely slippery when wet in shower shoes, which felt really dangerous. Bottom bunks get full privacy curtains but for some reason privacy curtains on top bunks only cover 3/4 of the bed at half height so if you turn your lamp on it disturbs the whole room. Seemed like a good kitchen but the fridge was stuffed to the brim, so I couldn’t put anything of my own in there. Seems like it never gets cleaned out. Reception empty half the time, no one was there when I wanted to check in, when I wanted to check out, when I was trying to put laundry in, when I wanted to sign up for the bar crawl and get instructions on where to go etc. I understand that standards are different in different countries, so maybe this is what’s to be expected in the Balkans but some of the things like the fridge, reception being attended more frequently, and the privacy curtains seem like easy fixes.

Verified reviewEverything was perfect. The location was perfect — right in the heart of Skadarlija. The hostel was clean, and the beds were comfortable. There was also air conditioning in the rooms, which helped a lot during the summer. The pub crawls were amazing, and the staff were incredibly friendly and kind.
