Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

HungaryI have to think hard to find something I did not like. We were looking for a nice, small wooden cottage that has a homely, warm vibe - old, not fancy, just like our grandparents' weekend cottage in Hungary - we did not want anything modern, fancy, "pure in design", grey/white. This cottage delivered for us everything we needed. The bathroom is very small, there is no sink in it, so you have to wash your teeth and face in the bathtub or at the kitchen sink. The fridge is probably 40 years old and hard to close properly (but works perfectly, and if you slam the door, there is no problem with closing). Most kitchen utensils are also from the socialist era. We did not have a problem with that at all (in fact we really liked it), but if you are looking for modern convenience, big spaces, up-to-date utensils, you should look elsewhere.
Pre-check-in communication was very good and stress-free. The host always replied and we had good instructions for the check-in location. At the property it was a bit more challenging, because we do not speak Serbian/Russian/other Slavic languages, and the representative of the host did not speak English. Of course it is not a big problem nowadays because we can use online translators and AI for instant communication. By the way, the lady was very sweet and not stressful. We really liked the vibe. The property is not directly accessible by car, so we had to park at a neighbouring property where there was a small, playful puppy, some chickens, tractors and wood chopping equipment at work. Our children liked those very much, and it gave off an authentic village property feeling - just what we were looking for. It has a good location - you can enter Tara National Park in a 20-minute-drive, there are 3 small shops (grocery stores) across the street, and nights are refreshingly cold even in August. Plus there were no mosquitoes at all!

RomaniaThe parking is not near the house, but it was not a problem. The neighbors are really welcoming. There was no sink in the bathroom but it was not a problem. Just for your information.
The cottage is very atmospheric, old but well maintained. It was like every small detail had a history. A lady welcomed us and presented the small house. So small but had everything there. There are 3 sleeping beds, a small kitchen, a living and a big yard with trees. The shower had hot water, it was really a good house.

BelgiumThis place is gorgeous! We felt in a bubble of paradise. The tiny house lots in the orchard is so calm and peaceful. The inside house is decorated with lots of taste. The atmosphere is very cute. It is a real nest. The owner answered all our questions and was super kind to us as well as the neighbours. We where travelling by bicycle, it was the perfect place to take a break. I wished we stayed more!

IrelandThis cottage gives off a cozy, homelike vibe that made us feel like we were in our own vacation spot. You've got all the handy stuff nearby - a supermarket, a coffee shop, and a restaurant, but once you step onto the property, it's just you and nature. The view of the mountains is a nice touch. Gotta give a shoutout to Ana, the host - she was super helpful. The bathroom water pressure and size were a bit tricky, but hey, we're not looking for luxury in a cottage. Definitely went beyond what we expected for a stay in a charming village cottage.

BelgiumUpon arrival (after searching the cottage(no signs and adress doesn't match google maps) i called them buh got a text back to say they could not honour the booking 🤔 something like it's already booked for the whole week but the place was availlable on booking.com...very strange and totally not ok!
