How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified review• Outstanding staff—attentive, friendly, and genuinely warm. Special mention to Joe at the bar (excellent cocktails and great conversation), Phillip at check-in, and Tharindu and Harry in the restaurant. • Large, accessible pool with plenty of sun loungers both poolside and on the beach. • Stunning saltwater infinity pool on the pavilion, perfect for watching the sunset. • Excellent snorkelling right off the pavilion, plus three platforms to swim out to for a fun challenge. • Staff consistently go above and beyond to make sure you’re comfortable and well looked after. • Honeymoon perks, including 10% off a full-body welcome massage and a romantic beachfront gazebo dinner (the food was incredible!). • Spacious, spotless rooms with a bright and comfortable feel. • High-quality, fresh food across all meals. • Free two-hour guided nature walk through the hotel’s private trail with an expert guide (we didn’t join but heard great feedback).
• Not suitable for guests with mobility issues—no lifts or stair lifts, and many rooms require climbing lots of steps (unless staying at pool level). • Limited vegetarian options for evening meals, with menus heavily curry-based most nights (great if you love curry, less so if you don’t). • The location is very remote—without a rental car, getting around is difficult

Verified reviewThe hotel was beautiful. The staff were so friendly, it was very clean. The decking was stunning, you could sit out with a cocktail and watch sunset
It was a little distance away from things, but with a rental car that wouldn’t be an issue.

Verified reviewNice mini-resort in a lovely location though a bit isolated from anything to walk to. Enjoyed staying there for our 3 nights and made use of the massage facilities which was very nice. Loved the organised hike. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Food was good too!
A bit out of the way - nothing to walk to. Pool area I feel could use a spruce up. But nothing really to complain about!

Verified reviewThe selection of food was outstanding and very tasty. From appetizers to desserts.
Not sure if it’s always this windy or due to location of hotel, but couldnt go in the ocean as the waves were pretty intense.

Strong winds on this side of the island.

Verified reviewThe rooms are nice, clean and beautiful. All the staff were great they went over and above to make our stay wonderful! Special mention to Mr Harry who provided exceptional customer service.
The location is far from everything and it is very windy. The beach was not nice to swim.

Verified reviewGood pools, perfect staff. Really nice beachfront villas, which can easily house a family with 2 kids. Excellent vareity of dishes, we didnt notice any repeat meals during our stay.
The beach is not suitable enough for swim. It would be better to expand the offered range of food and beverage on Afternoon tea (more than 1 type of cookies, maybe add some fruits).

Verified reviewThe location is excellent, but what truly sets this place apart is the STAFF! Ahmed, Harry, Ajay and the rest of the team went above and beyond to make us feel at home- their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail were genuinely 5-star. It’s rare to find this kind of hospitality, and it made our stay truly special and memorable. Thank you for making our experience so unique and charming!
If we had to mention a couple of downsides: the WiFi connection was a bit weak at times, and our room had an interconnecting door to the neighbors’, which slightly affected the sense of privacy.

Verified reviewWe had a truly wonderful stay at Coco De Mer Hotel and Black Parrot Suites! From the moment we arrived, the hospitality of the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. Special thanks to Vinod, Chef Raj, and Ahmed, who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort—they were always attentive, kind, and ready to lend a hand. The facilities were top-notch and impeccably maintained, creating a relaxing and luxurious atmosphere throughout the stay. One of our favorite touches was the complimentary tea hour—a perfect, calming segue into the evening. Limited food options for vegetarians for lunch and dinner. The hotel did its best to accommodate my needs and also offered an option to choose veg options from the a la carte menu that will be covered to a certain cost. We also took advantage of the organized trip to Anse Lazio, which was honestly one of the best experiences of our trip. A definite highlight and very well arranged! Each morning, we looked forward to the delightful breakfast spread, which was fresh, varied, and a great way to start the day. Our room was spacious, extremely comfortable, and beautifully maintained, and the evening turndown service added an extra layer of comfort and care. Overall, this was an exceptional stay. I would highly recommend Coco De Mer and Black Parrot Suites to anyone looking for a serene and memorable getaway in the Seychelles.
The AC in the rooms could not keep up with the heat and humidity- might need servicing.

Verified reviewThe manager (Ahmed) was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for him.
The food was not good. I tried the beef, pork and the lamb. It was so tough my gums are still painful now. How a chef can let meat leave his kitchen like that is beyond me.

Verified reviewLoved the staff, all so friendly and helpful. Big Comfortable bed and nice room. Upgraded our room to be on level with pool and facilities. Good pool and beautiful sunset deck.
Compared to other Seychelles beaches the hotel beach is poor. Not much of it and full of seaweed. But there is a free bus to the fabulous Anse Lazio 3 times a week.
