How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.

Verified reviewEverything was perfect during our stay. The room is big and cosy. The location is very good, just crossing the road there is a nice pocket beach. The staff, especially Shiful was very nice and attentive. When we arrived, we had a nice surprise, a very nice bed arrangement with flowers made by Shiful. We would definitely come back here.

A bit outdated furniture and dark rooms at the back of the house. Appartments in front side are much nicer.

Verified reviewA very welcoming check-in experience with flowers and a drink. Very clean and quiet. Housekeeping was very attentive and responded to questions very quickly. Two ceiling fans and air con. Very pretty petals on the bed.
I specifically asked for single beds but was given a double. To ‘solve’ this we were brought a single mattress to put on the floor. (See photo) We had to ask for an adaptor for the microwave as it didn’t work and kitchen wasn’t very well stocked (eg no can opener).

Verified reviewI like the welcoming of the staff at the reception- there was this nice lady I forgot her name; she was caring and serve me some biscuits as I was feeling tired. Alam helped me for information about the travel bus card and he was nice throughout my stay.

The location was terrible the location of our rooms was in the back we didn't even have a beautiful view...We had an emergency(one of our family got in a huge accident that night) during our stay they didn't even think of refunding us atleast half of the price the host were not even seychellois which was difficult to communicate because they lacked English vocabulary

Verified reviewAlam is kind but it is not enough
Our experience was so horrible that we didn't even manage to spend a night in this property. From the moment we arrived it seemed that something was wrong with the reservation, the house wasn't ready, we couldn't get in touch with the property or the managers (there is no reception) but we arrived very early and waited the necessary time for check in. During the tour of the apartment, in the bathrooms, we found cockroaches (3 dead and 1 alive) that we asked to remove. Since one of us is phobic we closed off a part of the house that we feared was infested, giving up a room and a bathroom. We went out and when we returned to the apartment in the evening (7pm) there was a huge cockroach in the middle of the living room that then ran away under the fridge. While we were looking for it, another one came out in the living room and headed towards the only available bedroom. We called Alam who helped us remove it and then checked the whole house but the more he checked, the more he removed, the more they came out. We spoke to the "boss" only on the phone, we explained the situation and why we couldn't stay, that the house was full because it wasn't sealed well (there are works in progress and the doors are always open), that one of us being phobic couldn't stay any longer and that none of us would have slept peacefully and at 11pm we decided to change accommodation, paying it in full. Even though we filed a complaint with booking, the structure never responded and we never received any refund even though we didn't use even one night. Be careful!! They ruin your experience and they also steal your money, because at this point I can say I was robbed. They will probably comment that mine are just lies but I have the proof and the photos. AVOID!

The property is in a tropical island environment, and while we conduct regular pest control, occasional sightings can happen and are addressed immediately when reported. 3. Communication & Refund: We were in direct contact with you and did our best to assist. However, cancelling your booking and leaving the property late in the evening without proper check-out or final discussion made it difficult for us to process any resolution. It’s also important to note that refund policies are handled through the booking platform, not directly by us. We regret that you felt the need to write such a strong review and make accusations that we consider to be inaccurate and unfair. We welcome constructive feedback, but we kindly ask that it be honest and proportionate to the reality of the situation. Verified reviewThis was my favorite place I stayed during my trip. On arrival the lad that runs the place Shiful Alam, had upgraded me to a much bigger room apartment and was very helpful throughout my stay. The location was perfect right by a bus stop ( a buss came by maybe every 30 minutes) and was in walking distance to shops and beautiful beaches. The room was perfectly clean and beautifully refurbished, big windows evwrywhere to let natural light in, fully equipped kitchen and hot water available at anytime. During my stay Shiful Alam organized a sunset BBQ for us guests to join and meet eachother. And was available anytime to answer questions or assist with anything I needed. I would definitely stay here again. 😊

There were a shop, a bus stop, a wonderful beach near our residence Alam is a supermanager and fantastic administrator. Very considerate, hospitable and caring.He helped us with any query we had. He did everything included in his responsibilities and even more. While waiting for our flight, he let us in the reception area . He is the best host, i have ever seen. I strongly recommend you visiting Gala Beach Self catering.

Verified reviewBig apartment with dressing room, living room and well equipped kitchen. One small beach just across the street, and others at a walking distance (I recommend Tusculum Beach - 4-5 minute by foot). A store with everything you need 10 metres away. Bus station 2 minutes away. Nice snorkeling. The price was very good for Seychelles.
We chose this location because it has good evaluations on bookig, but I thing we got the worst apartment. I red that someone wrote some time ago that the location is under construction because it is extending, but I thought that they were finished by then (it seems that it will take last from now on for a long time). The apartment nr 2 it is most exposed to the noise because the builders was working just in front of the door. They cut metal bars and welded them into a railing, which made it impossible for us to rest during the day, it was very disturbing especially after arriving after a long journey. Alam, the housekeeper, told them to stop few hours but it seems they did not listend to him. Also the walls are not soundproof at all. In the evenings (after the builders stop working) we heard the next door neighbors loud and clear every sound they made. Another reason for choosing this location was the beach across the road. I must say that it is more crowded that we were expecting. And there are a lot of rocks in the water so when there were waves (almost all the time) it is a little dangerous for accidents. The apartment smelled old, so we had to ventilate all the time. It is only one AC in the apartment what is little for such a big space. We had to keep the windows open almost all the time, but because they didn't have mosquito net some lizards and big spiders entered in the kitchen. In the last night we had an unpleasant surprise as a pipe broke in the bathroom and made a flood. It happened because it was very old. The owner was there on a Monday, but he didn't introduced himself and he didn't asked if everything is ok. When we checked out Alam kept begging us to give him a 10 rating on booking and so I figured out why this location is so overrated on booking. It is ok, but it is overrated on booking.com

Verified reviewThe rooms were very spacious and the view was fantastic. The beach nearby was very nice and beautiful. The rooms were super clean thanks to Alam and the host Ahmed was extremely welcoming and sweet. Very pleasant stay, would definitely recommend it!
