Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandBeautiful location with its own private beach. No need to go to other beaches but everyone does? Room was very nice with everything you could need. Only soap provided so you need to bring everything else. Very comfortable bed. Staff were very friendly and we went half board which was a good call as there is not much around it and you need a car/taxi to go anywhere else. Dinners had a distinctly Indian flavour which we loved. Very relaxing

United KingdomI booked a superior one bed room, which consists of very good sized double bedroom, kitchen with microwave, grill, oven and hot plate and everything you need for your stay (including a kitchen table if you wish to eat indoors!), bathroom with double sinks and shower and a great patio with table and chairs. There are ceiling fans and air conditioning. Everything was spotlessly clean with daily cleaning and linen and towels were changed every two days. Miette and her team were great and Miette was able to arrange taxis and excursions for me as I needed them. The bungalows are opposite the on-site restaurant (which serves Creole style food all day) and adjacent to the private beach. There are local shops and a takeaway within 5-15 minutes walk (dependent on what you want). Apart from the hotel’s own beach, you are only a short walk away from Anse Georgette, which the guidebooks mark as one of the two best beaches on the island. It’s accessed via a luxury hotel, which houses the Seychelles only 18-hole golf course and is a beautiful walk in itself. You can also get the local bus (which stops outside the hotel) around the island to visit many of the other beaches and villages, including the UNESCO world heritage site of Valle de Mai. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Islander and am happy to recommend it to fellow travellers. Anse Kerlan is a quiet area of the island and ideal for a relaxing break, but you also have the option of easily visiting other areas should you wish.

SlovakiaThis place is georgous with private beaches right in the the resort. They have nice restaurant and food store is very close. Host and personnel were very helpful, they gave us a welcome drink and good tips and also arranged access thru other hotel to most beautiful beach on the island - Anse Georgette. They also grilled for us fresh fish we bought on the market :) Road to the Anse Georgette beach took us about 20-25 minutes by walk and with baby trolley, and it was experience since it goes thru beautiful nature of golf resort.

NetherlandsWe booked a double bed, but got two single beds so we had to sleep separately. As we got the last room we did not have much choice so we accepted it. The kitchen is like camping, the minimum necessities are there.
it is a calm and secluded location. There is a restaurant on the property and the shop is at the main road. It has a very nice view on the sunsets. Also the people from the accommodation make you feel at home and are very helpful.

South AfricaThe atmosphere wasn’t very positive. The first thing staff said when I asked for beach towels was that we have to keep them for 4 days before we could get new ones. I don’t need to change every day but it’s so sandy and so moist there so they get very shabby after a day. When I called in advance to ask if they could help with transfer from airport the staff was quite rude and just said no. The breakfast didn’t include any dairy, meat or cheese. We had rice 7 days in a row for dinner. The house we stayed in was very basic. It was cleaned every second day.
It is very close to a small beach. The waiters are very kind and welcoming.

GermanyFirst thing we noticed is that the bungalow has not been very clean on our arrival. Bungalow was supposed to be cleaned every two days, but apparently the cleaning is very basic and most of the times only the towels have been changed. The second thing is that the kitchen equipment missed a few mayor things like a large pot to cook some pasta. The cutlery was just enough for the both of us so I'm not sure how this would work if a total of four persons would have stayed there. Cooking large dishes in this kitchen would definitely have been a challenge. Last but not least, the protective measures against insects could be improved. Although there are window glasses in front of the shutters in the bedrooms, the kitchen entry and the bathroom window are unprotected. Things can (and will!) fly through the shutters and crawl underneath the doors right into your bedroom, where I got quite a few mosquito bites during the night. Also, there were tiny ants in the kitchen even though we stored all food in the fridge and washed our dishes right after usage. It's true that the hotel is located right next to "the jungle" which is why it would be important to take measures against the things living in there. A few notes on the beaches nearby: while we were lucky and got acces to Anse Gorgette via the golf course, the Anse Kerlan and Petit Anse Kerlan are not accessible via the coast line. You have to get permission from the Lemuria Hotel, but we didn't try that. All in all we found ourselves driving to restaurants and beaches on the Cote d'Or quite often so we would have been better of staying on that side of Praslin (at least in October).
The Islander Hotel is located right next to the golf course of the Lemuria Hotel on the northwestern side of Praslin Island and is less a hotel then a self-catering bungalow location. We had a family bungalow for two persons which had two bedrooms, a kitchenette and a bathroom. The bungalow has been painted lately and is plain and functional. After a few hickups the aircon in one of the bedrooms has been replaced immediately and then worked normally. All rooms additionally have large fans. The staff is very friendly and all problems have been addressed immediately. There are a few chairs and tables right at the beach and we also went swimming in the sea although the weather was quite windy and waves came rolling in. However it is not forbidden to swim there, like some other reviews mentioned. You just have to swim at your own risk. But you'll find these warning signs at almost every beach on Praslin. There is a supermarket in walking distance to stock up on beer and food.

Czech RepublicThe chalets are very close to each other and quite dark inside. The kitchen was equipped with very old/used appliances and smelled moldy. Poor lightning (except for bathroom where the lightshade was missing entirely).
The location next to a beautiful beach. Comfortable loungers with sea view and beautiful sunset views. Nice garden. You can order cocktails (even NA) right to the beach. Staff is nice, helps you order a taxi and such.
