How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The breakfast cooks were friendly, everyone else seemed to just tolerate us. No “hello“ or “good morning” from anyone. Maybe because we don’t speak French? Or that’s just the European culture? The kids pool was dirty. It wasn’t that deep and couldn’t even see the bottom. Algae could be scraped off the side.

Some staff members were not so nice, overall the property was maintained well, but the backyard was really dirty with lots of garbage and plastic lying around. The breakfast could have been better.

Verified reviewThe hotel was easy to book with and pre arrival communication was excellent. A transfer from the ferry was organised and was as requested, a great start. My room was large and furnished to a high standard. Everything worked as it should. The entire staff were trained to a high standard and were always available and willing to help. Ronelle was a mine of information and arranged taxi rides, ferry trips, bicycle hire and local tours. Effie was patient helping with internet settings. Fantastic service!! Breakfast included a wide range of food, lunch and dinner a la carte provided a good choice of cooking styles. Great fresh local ingredients cooked simply and well. Prices were appropriate and good value. Service was excellent. Room and shower facilities for refreshing between check out and late departure was a thoughtful free addition. Local beach must rate as one of the best in the world.
Pool towels could be placed near to the pool, not away in the reception.

Verified reviewWe absolutely loved our stay! The food was delicious, with the Creole buffet on Saturday standing out as a real highlight — simply amazing. The outdoor area is stunning, with a beautiful pool and a charming, tastefully designed setting. The room was cozy and comfortable, featuring a spacious bathroom with a luxurious double shower. We also loved the outdoor shower at the back of the villa — such a special touch that made the experience even more memorable. The service was excellent from start to finish, with a special mention to the bartender Rasika, who was always incredibly attentive and professional. The owners are clearly very dedicated and take care of every detail, which is evident throughout the whole experience. We highly recommend it!

Verified reviewThe villa apartment is extremely pretty and has a very handy outside shower and an amazing terrace where to spend the evening. Special mention goes to the pool bar. The bartender has a very good personality and every drink has been a 10/10, a must have in this hotel.

Verified reviewBeautiful, friendly and delicious! The rooms and the general aesthetics of the hotel were clean, comfortable and beautiful. It felt both very exclusive and intimate. We had a great time, the food was delicious and the staff were very helpful and friendly! The hotel is located close to nice local restaurants and a long beautiful beach – perfect for morning or evening runs. The beach in front of the hotel had a lot of washed up seaweed (supposedly it’s seasonal) and in comparison to the islands other more popular beaches it didn’t compare, but pretty nonetheless. There were many families with younger children staying in the hotel. We got to borrow a volleyball for the time we stayed there which was much appreciated as I traveled with my family where we are four guys (age 18+). There were also table tennis and similar activities by the poolside. Overall had a lovely experience. Would definitely come back!
Personally I didn’t need the tortoises on the premise. They were caged in the back of the hotel. I found it to be a small, rather dirty, enclosure for the giant and large amount in it. The 9 would have been a 10 if it wasn’t for this. There are plenty of places (and excursions) where you can meet them roaming around freely. Wholly recommend this instead, for anyone that wants a close up encounter with these precious animals.

Verified reviewWe loved everything! Beautiful decorated, very clean and friendly staff. Nice swimmingpool, good food and lovely garden. If you want to eat outside the hotel, there are nice restaurants and take away. Next to hotel are little shops and mini markets. Across the road is the beach. We rent a car from reception and was good. Great place to enjoy Praslin.
The Tortoises are good looked after by the staff, but more space would be great.

Verified reviewThis was by far the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at!! Not only was the place spotless clean and beautifully decorated, but also were the food and drinks offered (including the exceptional buffet) absolutely amazing. What really stands out though is the wonderful staff! Every single staff member I’ve met, from the owner to the receptionist to bar tenders, waiters and cleaning staff, was incredibly polite and friendly. When I accidentally left my jacket at the hotel, they made sure to get it to me on Mahé in time! I’m forever thankful for that. All in all, 10/10, loved it!!!
If I have to find something, it’d be the rather thin walls - you’d have to get used to waking up from birds chirping.

We were told that there was no room service and when we asked for water, they asked us to get it from the restaurant. The pool was under renovation but we were not informed about this.
