How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewBeautiful view, good location, but you can't swim on the nearest beach. Beautiful rocks opposite the room. Comfortable veranda. The room has everything you need.
A flying fox is locked in a small cage, it's a pity for the animal. A tortoise is locked in a small enclosure. The owner asked us to buy 2 cartons of cigarettes in duty free. In return, he promised us a fridge full of coconuts. How nice it was that when we arrived at our room, there were coconuts not only in the fridge, but also on the beds, in the sink, literally everywhere. ;-) Thank you, Ronnie!
The guest is mistaken, I told them that they would have a coconut during their stay and they did get a coconut. The bat would die if the bat was not in the cage and we rescued the bat as a baby and he would not have survived if we released the bat. We have a large area for the turtles and they must be in a closed environment or they could get stuck in rocks and die.

The Mirella villa internal living space is far from 70m2 as stated in the booking offer. Even including terrace it’s not 70m2. But that didn't bother us in the end.

Verified reviewEverything. It’s a perfect place to stay, with é everything you need and with an amazing view. Ronnie told us to put some bred on the balcony for the birds, and it was amazing, we had 5 different kinds of birds there every morning and evening, strongly advise to do the same
Just think the turtles place should be clean more often.

Verified reviewAbsolutely amazing and highly recommend! The hosts were amazing! Super supportive and really took an extra time to explain us everything as well as share recommendations where to go and what to see. We were very lucky with the weather we had during our holiday and that helped to enjoy the wonderful view. The place is super green and surrounded by the local jungle. We had everything that was needed, the fully equipped kitchen, comfy bed, air con, the high speed Wifi and the phone and more. Mirella and Ronnie, thank you, we have had the best of holidays!

Verified reviewWe had the pleasure of spending 4 nights in Mirella Villa. The owners are incredibly hospitable and take care of every detail to ensure guests feel comfortable. The apartment is spacious and very clean. The location is perfect – in a quiet area with large garden and nice views. There are two tortoises in the garden and our terrace was visited daily by various birds. An additional advantage is the high-speed internet, which allows for seamless online access.

Verified reviewThe view from the balcony is truly stunning! Surrounded by nature, private and secure. Mature garden full of endemic tree species, enormous mango trees and a a couple of giant tortoises in a large natural enclosure. Really well equipped kitchen. The washing machine is nice touch! Super fast wifi. Use of a private swimming pool with views over forest and sea. Well stocked shop literally just across the path. Great little sea-view restaurant at the bottom of the hill. Ronnie took us on a complimentary sunset cruise one evening which was wonderful! This place really made our trip special - we can't rate it highly enough - thanks!

Verified reviewThis is the nicest place I’ve stayed in the Seychelles. Ronnie and Mirella the owners and Grace and Kumar who work there were so friendly, helpful and kind. The location is perfect, it’s very quiet and peaceful with a little shop on site perfect for groceries, and the bus stop is just at the end of the road so it’s easy to get into C’ote D’Or in only 10 minutes. The gardens are beautiful and the view from the balcony is amazing, there are lots of birds in the forest below. The rooms were very comfortable, and you can cook in the kitchen or go to a really tasty restaurant just at the end of the road called the Seaview Grill. The wifi was really fast and we could stream things no problem at all. There’s a phone in the room which was really handy for making local calls like for a taxi. I’d definitely come and stay again!

Verified reviewVery nice place to spend a wonderful holiday! The location is great! The sunsets are wonderful! We were welcomed by Ronnie. He told us a very interesting things about the island. There is a very nice pool on the territory where you can meet the sunsets. Also you can meet the sunsets on your own spacious balcony with a glass of wine 😉. The kitchen is small but has everything you ever need. 👍 And if you need a car or an excursion to the ocean - Ronnie can also help you with it!
