How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewEverything else was perfect and we will certainly come back again.
Missing toilet paper and basic essentials like spare towels, salt, sugar and tea.
Thank you for the feedback and happy that you enjoyed your stay. I just want to clarify something that you have listed in your review; we had the booking for two rooms and two guests total. In each bedroom we put two bath towels and one hand towel. You only spent two nights and I am a bit baffled about the remark for spare towels. We followed up in the apt every day apart form Saturday and Sunday where we replenished toilet paper etc...if we have missed something it would have been great if you sent us a message and we would've done the necessary. I am so sorry about that. We do have salt in the cabinet and as for tea and sugar we do not provide. Thanks, Kind regards.

Verified reviewGood View
My wife and I recently spent 4 days at this property, which turned out to be a rather unpleasant experience. Despite its promising sea view, the place fell short in almost every other aspect. Firstly, the parking situation is precarious, with a driveway that feels unsafe. The property is governed by an excessive list of rules, spanning 5 pages, which made our stay feel more restrictive than relaxing. The fear of incurring additional charges for minor infringements added to our discomfort. The parking area is not only congested but also located inconveniently up a steep hill. Our stay was further marred by hygiene issues; we encountered insects in our room on the second and third days. When we reported this, our concerns were dismissed with a nonchalant explanation that insects are common in tropical locations. Cleanliness seemed to be a facade, as we were asked to vacate the premises daily for cleaning between 10 am and 12 pm, yet we saw no improvement in the condition of our room. The linens and towels were not changed throughout our stay, forcing us to rely on our own spare towels. Bizarrely, items like pillows and a washroom mat began to disappear from our room, leaving us with minimal comforts. The cleaning staff's rigid instructions on where to place personal items, such as the hair dryer, felt overbearing. Our experience took an even more unpleasant turn upon our departure. We made sure to clean up after ourselves, especially after cooking a simple meal with minimal spices. Yet, we received an accusatory message suggesting we left a lingering smell, which was both confusing and unwarranted. This response came after I had left an honest review on Booking.com, which seemed to provoke a defensive and, in my view, racially insensitive reaction from the host. This encounter has led me to believe that the host harbors prejudiced attitudes, further souring our overall experience.
Dear Kane, Thank you for your review. We’ve taken note of your feedback and feel the need to clarify a few points. Firstly, it’s important to mention the fact our guesthouse is on a hill is clearly stated on our website, along with photos of the parking area. Most drivers with average driving ability are able to comfortably drive and park in the area. As for the so-called “excessive list of rules,” these have been put in place over the years after dealing with difficult guests (such as yourself) who didn’t respect the property. These rules are essential for maintaining the integrity of the guesthouse for all visitors, and no other guests have ever complained about them. Regarding your hygiene complaints, the only issue here was you. On one occasion, our cleaner had to deal with the unpleasant task of removing feces from the bidet that you left behind. This was extremely uncomfortable for our staff, and we’d expect better care from guests using our facilities. As for the bathroom mat, it was outside drying after you flooded the bathroom. Had we left it wet inside, I’m sure you would’ve complained about that too. We provide basic amenities like salt and pepper for cooking, but if you needed anything extra, it was your responsibility to buy it. This is a guesthouse, not a hotel with a full set of luxury supplies. All guests are expected to purchase any extra ingredients they need. The cleaning hours are clearly communicated to guests, and we simply let you know when cleaning is scheduled. We have never forced you to leave during these times. Finally, your accusation was entirely out of line. In Seychelles, we are a melting pot of different cultures, ethnicities, and backgrounds, and this diversity is something we take immense pride in. Our community is built on mutual respect, understanding, and appreciation for the varied traditions that make up our island's rich culture. It absolutely baffles us that you would interpret any of our actions in such a way. We are committed to treating all of our guests with the utmost respect, regardless of their background, and expect the same level of respect in return. It’s disappointing that you would make such an unfounded claim when nothing in our interactions or our service has ever reflected prejudice. We hope this clears up any confusion, particularly for future guests. Regards Ronelle

Need a car to enjoy the location
Thanks for the feedback and for staying one night at our place. We have the most beautiful view which you said you love very much and that is thanks to the location. You ordered a car before you came which you cancelled and upon arrival you wanted to hire a car which I did all I can to get you one and in the end you said it is ok you can do without .I was the only one seeing you and it would have been good to know what I did wrong for not to get a better rating and to improve on it.I even asked my neighbour to give you a lift when you were walking down to the shop which I think was something very nice of me to do.I even tried my best to give you the room before the check in time .

Verified reviewThe view from the villa was spectacular, and there was lots of space, with two separate bedrooms and a full kitchen, lounge, and balcony area. The villa was very clean and provided some bath products.
Whilst the position provided a great view it was a very steep hill to walk get to the local (very limited) shops. Very little milk, coffee, tea (about 5 bags for our 4 day/two person stay) was provided. The owner came into the villa a little too frequently and payment couldn't be made electronically, only in cash. Her preference was in Euro, which I would have had to make an extra trip into the local town to obtain. The advertisement says access to a washing machine, but this was not provided. When we asked, we were told that we could provide her with our clothes (including our underwear?!) for her to wash, but we could use the washing machine ourselves...we were uncomfortable with this.
Thank you for the feedback but we would like to shine some light on the negative remarks. On our listing it is very clear that we are up the hill and photos of our place says it all.Feedback from other guests state that we are up the hill and if you are not comfortable with walking you would need a car.You were offered a rental car or transfer but you said you wanted to explore by bus.We are not on the main road so you need to walk to the Bus stops and this was your choice. Our two stores down the road have everything one would need for their daily use. We operate as a self catering and there is nowhere on our listing that says we provide Tea /coffee /Milk.We put a few items as a starter pack for your arrival after which you buy your own. When you asked me for extra tea sachets I did replenished when doing housekeeping and there were few tea sachets plus coffee and milk left after your departure in the fridge. I do pay my clients a visit every morning or in the evening,I see nothing wrong in that and I am just doing my job to ensure my clients are happy. In your case I am very sorry if you were not happy seeing me at my place and you could have told me that you do not want to be disturbed and I would have understand. You pretended to be happy when you see me , asking me questions then to say that I come too often in the Villa. This is not nice . As for the cash payment it is well listed that we take only cash so I do not see why you were not happy about that .I told you to give me in Seychelles Rupees by getting the cash in the machines like other clients do but you said you do not want to pay any fees. You did not even pay us our full amount as per the daily exchange rate, but we took what you decided to give us which is unacceptable but we did not make any fuss. We did offer to do your laundry as we are not comfortable for clients to use our machine due to bad experience but you said no need for it as you thought we were going to charge you for that. As for us we tried our best to give you an early check in whilst you did not respect our check in time and not even the time you gave us during booking. We were happy we managed to do that and we thought that you were happy too.We welcome you with some fresh juice and bananas from our garden and we were always there to help and to answer your questions and so sorry again that we could not please you to the full.

Verified reviewOwner is very friendly. We could check-in earlier. Laundry possible upon request. Good location (if one has a car) and spacy rooms. Nice, big balcony with great view on the sea. One can have absolutely pleasant dinner and breakfast. Regular cleaning. Good equipped kitchen. Ice cubes in the freezer. Parking place for guests.
- No wifi signal in rooms and bathroom.. One cannot work remotely or stream movies.. Hopefully will be improved. - Loud construction site in front of the balcony (not hotels fault, but that reduced the pleasure of morning). Hopefully will be finished soon. - AC condensator right under the window. If one sleeps very sensitively one cannot run AC in the night. - cash only, credit card is more convinient. we needed ro look for atm and withdrath some cash
Dear Pavel, Thanks for the feedback and also sorry for some disappointment. -To have such beautiful view we need to be up the hill and you are right that one needs a car if they do not like to walk. -Happy that we could help with the early Checkin which is not easy especially when we have clients leaving that same day , the laundry service, and regular cleaning. -Not all places in the Seychelles are lucky to have good internet service .We are so sorry about that and hopefully our service provider who we pay quite a lot of money for the bad service will listen to our calls. We also think that it is always good to have a SIM card like I do when I go on holiday and do not rely on the hotel ,despite they offer that facility. -As for the construction we are also praying that it will be over soon. -The Aircon unit , is located outside, under the small balcony ,not below any window as far as I know and first time we have this complain ,we also cannot see anywhere else to relocate that unit. -On our listing Page it is well written that the hotel takes cash only as we do not have the credit card facility. We are happy that we could shine some lights on the above issues and we are positive to keep working hard to please other clients. Enjoy the rest of your holiday. Kind Regards The Reve Bleu Team.

Verified reviewLocation, it is a great location, slightly uphill, quite clause to Beau Vallon infrastructure but far away enough form its buzzling noise and crowds. It is close to Sunset beach, just a bit of careful walking along the road. We didn't drive and walked there though mind the way back uphill with small children and elderly. Host Ronelle is very welcoming and helpful, we were pleased to benefit form early check in as our flight landed at 5.30. Veiw is just amazing, we enjoyed picturesque sunsets every day! Surprisingly there were no mosquitos so we could enjoy very late evenings outside. We were staying in the top apartment, it is very spacious and feels very private. The property is very clean and very well maintained. Bedrooms are air conditioned. Don't hesitate and book!
Thank you so much Nadezhda and family ,it was a real pleasure to have you at our place and do hope to see you back. All the best.Kind Regards Ronelle
