Upon arrival, the staff greeted us with genuine warmth and friendliness, setting a positive tone for our stay. The room was exceptionally comfortable (with air conditioning), situated in a beautifully renovated hotel that retains the charm and style of its era. Although our time in Gothenburg was brief—we had just one day and needed to depart early for the ferry—the staff ensured our needs were met by providing a takeaway breakfast, for which we were truly grateful.

Very good location. The room was small, but good enough and comfortable to sleep. We like loft and minimalistic design, but we also enjoyed this hotel design. It looks natural. The breakfast was simple, but very good, with some Swedish dishes :)

This hotel is very beautiful and cozy. Recommend this place if you want a more traditional swedish styled hotel. I am always coming back every year to stay there. The location is very convenient. Close to the Gothenburg station and city.

Nothing wrong at all!

Everything was over and above expectations. The Bkfst and the setting were both wonderful and made you feel special due to the quality. The staff was very helpful and the tea cakes and coffee/tea station was perfect after a long day out. Love this place and would come back in a heartbeat. Book this hotel!

I can't think of a thing!!

The friendly staff, the comfortable room and the central location made this the perfect hotel for me. Checking in was quick and easy and my room was ready so I was able to drop my luggage in the room and start exploring! Everything I wanted to see and do was within walking distance. Wish I could have stayed longer!!

The location is perfect. Very close to the train station and an easy walk to many shops and restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great with a nice variety of options and there was always coffee and cake available in the lobby. I loved my cozy room.

The hotel is in the old canal district of the city with narrow streets and corridors between buildings. The sound of the occasional loud motorcycle and truck passing by reverberate loudly. That said, it was very quiet between about 11 pm and 5 am.

There's a reason that The Royal Hotel is consistently at the top of list of best hotels in Göteborg. Excellent location, historic ambience, charming and elegant interior, remarkably friendly staff, spacious rooms, comfortable beds, great breakfast, and more... If you arrive by car, there is a parking garage across the street. We really enjoyed our short stay at The Royal in Göteborg and will definitely overnight here again.

I loved staying at The Royal. I arrived after having emergency tooth extraction the day before, feeling drained. The Royal was like a big hug, a place to feel I could rest and recover. I would make a point of staying there again.

On the weekends if there are outdoor events,you can hear the music clearly and is hard to fall asleep.

Staff was amazing and the rooms were clean and just big enough for one person.Breakfast was great with lots of options including gluten free and lactose free products.Location is 5minutes away from main train station and all other attractions are close with public transport.

The hotel is very family-friendly and centrally located. The staff is excellent, and considering it’s Gotemburg the price-quality ratio has been fantastic. The breakfast was also very good and varied. What really stands out is that it’s a very friendly hotel with a very, very family-oriented atmosphere.

The elevator is very small, making it challenging to bring luggage up.

This historical hotel is very quaint and amazingly located in Göteborg. The staff is super personable and welcoming. The breakfast was also quite appreciated.

Great staff! They were all super friendly and kind. Beautiful hotel right next to the center of the city. Every part of the city is reachable by foot within a few minutes.
