How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe rooms are as described. Each room has an electric kettle with some tea and coffee. There are a few parking spaces directly in front of the hotel and more available in the surrounding streets, which are usually not very full. We even found a free spot right in front of the hotel in August. The breakfast is really good: tea, coffee, fruit, vegetables, yogurt, bread, a cold cuts platter, eggs, omelets, sausages, and meatballs.

Breakfast was disappointing. The fruit was turning and the only hard boiled egg I tried somehow had a solid yolk but runny white. I couldn't eat it. Always seemed to be out of coffee.

As for eggs, there are people who like it with hard yolk, or soft yolk, hard white or soft white and so on. We have no physical opportunity to boil them up-to-order separately for every guest, unfortunately. As for coffee, it tends to finish at some point, as a a coffee thermos has a limited capacity. Once it is finished, we replace it with a new thermos full of freshly brewed coffee. Since they both are of a black colour and are made of a non-transparent material, we cannot predict when exatly the coffee will be finished or how much coffee is left in the thermos, but we change it immediately, once our guests inform us about it. Verified reviewThe hotel provided secure parking for us but it was an additional charge we were prepared to pay. It was a fair price knowing the costs in Sweden are higher than other countries.
Everything was great but to include free parking would have been great during our 2 day stay.
Thank you for your feedback, Jan! As much as we would love to provide a free parking space for our guests, it is impossible at this moment, as we do not have own facilities / premises to do so. The parking spaces outside the hotel are communal, so guests have to pay to the commune per hour, or, alternatively, we can book a place for them in the secured garage that is 300 m. away, and it costs 175 sek / night in this case. Ventilation was non existent, vent in bathroom was obvious non functioning so even with all windows open in the room the bathroom was a furnace. Bathroom looked clean until I checked with a blacklight, not even the zink was cleaned. Shower head holder completely broken so had to hold it the whole time while showering. Floor in the room was leaning which was a bit uncomfortable. Stairwell smelled strongly of smoke and marijuana but no smell in the room thankfully.

Location and that we paid for breakfast but found the restaurant door closed, so no breakfast provided. Contacted hotel and bookings.com for a partial refund with about 5 emails over several weeks. Neither the hotel nor bookings.com replied to any of our emails. I find this so poor after overpaying for something we never received.

Verified reviewThe location is great, the city center and train station are easily accessible by bus and tram and the surroundings are calm and green. The room was small, but cosy and well furnished. The breakfast had many options, also regarding allergies and diets.
The fruit at the breakfast wasn't super fresh. There were enough other options though. Some things in the room have to be repaired; the door to he bathroom was difficult to close and the closing system of the window was broken.

During breakfast, the staff couldn't keep up. Coffee, juice and bread were out and we had to tell them. Also the kitchen staff had poor English/Swedish. The gluten-free option did not taste good unfortunately. Not accesible as I thought this place would be

Verified reviewThe hotel is located in one of my favorite areas of Gothenburg, not busy but also close to the center. No other hotels nearby, they also have a cozy bar and Georgian cuisine restaurant on the ground floor, which serves as the breakfast area too. The building is old, but in a nice way (high ceilings, wooden floors), the room was quite spacious and comfortable (except for the problem with the high temperatures that I write below). The breakfast was more than adequate.
The weather was unfortunately quite warm and humid, so I would expect the room to be equipped with a fan. We had difficulties sleeping at night with these temperatures. I also understand that people in the breakfast area want to do their work, but it wouldn't be a big deal to let us finish our coffee just 5 minutes after the end of the breakfast time.

Verified reviewThe hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, and has the usual facilities of a hotel with ok space. Breakfast is fair. The tram line is a 5 min walk, and 10 min by tram to the city. There is a supermarket close by.
We got the room on the 4th floor which has a bit less ventilation because of the small window. The beds have a spring mattress and can be very soft. Besides that, it was a very pleasant stay.
