The hosts spoke very little English but made a huge effort to accommodate and communicate with us. They were incredibly welcoming and checked each time we saw them that everything was okay. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the shower is powerful (which is a good thing) and the air-conditioning was perfect in the warmer weather.

    Nothing

The property was very spacious. It has balcony with a beautiful view which gives additional bonus to the apartment. The apartment is on the second floor and is located in a rural area so you don’t have to worry about any loud noises from traffic. We were visiting in September when the temperature variated between 18-24 degrees but in the apartment the temperature was just right - not too cold and not too hot. The owners of the property were a pleasant couple - very nice and welcoming. Owners speak Slovenian, Italian and know few words in English as well. But using some simple English and gestures there was no problem communicating. They always made sure to check in on our day and if anything was ok. And as a bonus - when we were leaving they gave us some home grown persimmons. We really enjoyed our stay in these apartments 😊

The hosts made all was possible to make our stay enjoyable; the "grand-parents" did not speak English, so me used hands, basic words and smiles to communicate. Translation app was eventually used to address more specific questions. The daughter came to greed us and provide us tips on the facilities and the area. A very nice and heartful welcome! The apartment is very comfortable and well-equipped, with a brand-new bathroom, spacious bedrooms and a living room ideal for cooling off after a day in the blazing sun; it has a large terrasse, which we used for our breakfast as it is protected from the sun - which was really terrible during our whole stay in Slovenia. The air-conditioning device is in the living room, but allows to maintain a suitable temperature in the whole apartment, as long as you close your windows and shutters in good time. The residence is in the middle of a very beautiful area, and at short driving distance of many interesting sites, like the Postojna and Škocjanske caves, and many, many beautiful villages (Šmartno, Štanjel, Pedrovo...) In the nearby village Vipava, don't miss the restaurant Faladur: an incredible, creative cuisine without excessive demonstration. A must-go!

Well... nothing. Except the daily temperatures rising up to 32 and even 38°c one day... We Belgians are definitely not used to that!

The view for the nearby hills. The peace and calm at every night. The temperature at nights is always under than 22-23 celsius in summer too. So perfect to relax and sleep well.

The terrace faces to southwest, west, so in summer the terrace is brutally hot. You can't stay there. (The house and the rooms are very insulated. So the temperature inside is great!) There is no mosquito net on the windows.
