How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewStaff were trying, but clearly it is not good.
Bathrooms. Construction. Closed rooftop. Slamming interior doors. No social structure. All of these are fixable problems. No attention or care to fixing for better guest care.

Verified reviewIt´s a very nice old house with beautiful wooden furniture and all what you need for a good stay.
I did not sleep well because the air condition was running all night.. Unfortunately, the window could not be opened. Therefore, it was really hot and loud so I did not find a good rest. I missed fresh air....

Verified reviewClose to the train station and the city center. Staff were nice.
Pretty much just a pub with some rooms. The bathroom was in the doormroom. There was glass in the door so that when someone went to the bathroom at night, everyone woke up from the whole room being lit up. No sound isolation from the bathroom, you could here everything. Felt like I was sleeping in a bathroom it was so loud. Check-in at the pub was slow because of the pub being full. There was no fridge, kettle or anything else to store or make food. No common area except from the pub itself.

Verified reviewLocation is excellent, also the cleanliness was good and the bed was very stabil as well. Locker space is big and top bunk has lamp and power outlet too.
Staff is not there to talk to you, just doing a job - monoton check in, no questions or suggestions at all. To me there's no real hostel atmosphere, the common area is just a corridor with a few tables and the very poorly equipped kitchen (it's not possible to cook).

Verified reviewComfortable beds, good lockers under the bed for bag. Room was quiet even if there where many beds. Clean showers with "storage" for your stuff. Excellent location!
Curtains for the bed would be nice. Also it's bad that you have to pay for luggage storage, both before check in and check out (3€ each time) 🙁 Not a very social hostel.

Verified reviewVery kind check in staff. They provide you with a clean towel, which is nice. The facilities are clean (though the bathroom got a bit stinky). I only stayed one night but appreciated how the guests all seemed to respect the space and cleaned up after kitchen use, etc. comfortable beds. Close to the bus station but also easy to access the center town and old town.
Bathroom was a bit smelly. Window in the women’s dorm didn’t open without a key (not sure it was as allowed.. didn’t ask).

Verified reviewThe best thing about this hostel was the fellow guests - possibly because we bonded while dying from the sauna-like conditions and the unhelpful staff. The location which is close to the city is great. Each bunk comes with a lockable drawer under the bunk.
The heat and lack of ventilation was horrific. The controls for the air conditioner (which wasn’t on in a 30+ day in a bunk room for 6 people) were kept locked up in a room to which only the pub staff had access. The staff wouldn’t turn it on despite numerous pleas from various guests over two days. Finally a group of guests went en masse to beg. The staff member finally came out sulkily turned it on. The hostel is kocated close to the old town which is really convenient but it is part of a pub. The daily pub crawl for youth hostels begins right outside the room which is great if you’re a pub crawler, or so great if you’re not as you’ll have to dodge the people skolling shots outside your door. While the bunk drawers are great, the key for it works on the front door and everyone else’s drawer as well which kind of defies the point of a lockable drawer. Pulling them open also wakes the entire room as they’re not on castors.

Verified review-Location near to bus station -The young blond lady in the bar check in was very friendly and helped me with my luggage to go upstairs I appreciated that
-we need to go to the bar for check in/out so I didn’t feel comfortable with that - there is no lift/elevator to go to upper level so if you have heavy luggage or more than 1 you will suffer - it wasn’t mentioned that female dorm has 14 beds, so you can imagine how many people go in go out all the day and night - the showers and toilets are in the same place and are mixed so me as a female with hijab I need to put my hijab every time I go to the toilet or shower or just use the mirror for makeup -there is no single mirror in the rooms and those on the toilet are small just for watching yourself washing your face or doing makeup - I didn’t appreciate that male staff enter in female room every time with new comers and often without knocking on the door !!! - there is no curtains in the bed so no privacy at all and lights direct on your face - the hostel is a pub so every night people are very noisy and laughing out loud - there is a small area called kitchen but you can not cook juste microwave a medium fridge and a kettle
