How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewvery small room but cosy. It gets really warm inside. Some staff is nice but they should be able to help and inform more on the area, as it can be dangerous to set people on hikes for which they might not be prepared, without maps or antyhing

Verified reviewThe atmosphere there was perfect. It is cosy there, especially if you spend time in their restaurant. Great staff. Good value for money.

Cold showers, no kitchen and room was too hot to sleep comfortably.

Verified reviewMagnificent view from the terrace Close to the cable car to Velká Planina Nice restaurant
The chalet terrace and street furniture need renovation. The stairs to the upper tier beds are very steep and extreme

Verified reviewThe location is amazing right at the foot of the cable car so ideal spot after a day up the mountain. The space is perfect if you have kids you can relax and eat and drink whilst they play on the swings, sandpit and mess about. My daughter made friends and had a wonderful time! Food was good!
The rooms were so hot! They are quite small and only have a tiny window. I did not notice the fan until 4am after having little sleep until that point! Don’t be stupid like me and not notice the fan on the top shelf!!! Towels were not included and you had to pay. Only one toilet and shower for women between about 5 rooms? It was manageable

Verified reviewGood location. 10 minute walk from cable car and bus station. Big communal area with games and plenty of places to sit. Room was small and sweet and with a fan.
Doesn’t include towels. The restaurant is very expensive which I feel is because they know that there aren’t any other options in the area to buy food, so they take advantage of that fact. The waitress was also terrible, the whole night we sat there and had to approach her ourselves for every drink and food order we had, she did not come to us once. The water is not drinkable. No refrigerator to store food or any basics eg. kettle.

Verified reviewThis is a really magical place, amazing vibe, beautiful location. The restaurant serves really really good food, so I would recommend eating there. Very nice people work there, with the main host lady definitely being "a character" :) sometimes things get a bit disorganized but it is mostly because there are too many people and it is difficult to handle.
The place is supposed to be a low-key hostel/camping place, but the prices do not correspond to this - it is a bit too expensive. Of course, there is a demand and people will pay, but it is still too pricy. Breakfast is €28 for 2ppl, which is A LOT, given there is no other place to eat (it is a very good breakfast though). On the campsite, there seem to be too many people, not enough toilets and showers. There was no hot water. These things did not bother us as we were there for 1 night and it was more of an experience, but yeah, can be problematic/annoying especially when travelling with kids. Still, we loved it and will definitely be back when travelling to Slovenia!

Verified reviewThe location is very good, just under the cab to Velika Planina. There is a vibe when you sit in the pub in the evening, it`s quite peacful and joyful at the same time. The rooms were clean and even the shared bathroom was quite clean. When you are prepared for the fact that it`s like camping but in a room, it`s ok.
Well for the price (which was the same or even higher than somewhere in Lublan) there was almost nothing included. There is no hot water for a tea, you have no option to get any bowl or spoon for your morning oats, so you have to think about it beforehand. (I suppose this was our mistake since I did not expect it) The rooms are very small under the roof, the days were hot at the time we were there and there was only one small roof window so the rooms vere quite hot. There is no space for you stuff, just few shelves. It`s old wooden buidling so the walls are not sound insulated, and all is creaking in the night, so when somebody talks or go to bathroom you can hear everything. Also when we arrived, the hosts are working both in a pub and in the accomodation, so they are busy, it takes a while to be accomodated. Don`t get me wrong, I am visiting hostels often, I can survive such things, but you pay much less for accomodation like that (we paid for 2 rooms (2 adults, 2 kids).

Verified review⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Guest House Kraljev is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of the Slovenian Alps. The location is unbeatable—just steps away from the cable car to Velika Planina, making it a perfect base for hiking and exploring nature. The room was cozy, spotless, and surprisingly comfortable despite its compact size. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, and the homemade meals at the restaurant were a delicious reward after a day of adventure. Bonus points for being family-friendly, with a lovely garden that kids will adore. A place full of charm and character—we’ll definitely be coming back!

Verified reviewThe location, atmosphere and cleanliness make this place shine! It is a few minutes walk from the cablecar station that takes you up to Velika Planina (a place where anyone can take a good walk with a view to spectacular mountains) and 5 minutes to a parking place from where you can reach 2k+ peaks if you are up to it. The staff is also very friendly, naturally and directly warm, especially the "head lady" :). She is looking after you (greeting message written in your (inferred) mother tongue, notifying if you left your headlight on, for example. The atmosphere is excellent. One has a choice of putting up a tent, parking a caravan or booking a small room in the main house itself. But the cool thing is the central eating place behind the house, a fusion between a pub and a countryside restaurant. In addition, while the rooms are basic and tiny (our double room was about twice the size of the bed with a 45 degree tilted ceiling cutting the airspace in half), they are clean and so are the (shared) bathrooms. One could also mention the food that is good although not cheap (see below).
There is nothing I would not like but mention two aspects. First, I think the place is excellent for what it is: a sport hostel. Be mindful of this. Rooms and facilities are simple but do the job very well. Secondly, note that the food you buy on the spot is not cheap. It is not mandatory to buy it: tent dwellers happily eat their own food around the arranged eating place, even though not buying anything at all would be strange. However, if you eat in, it can be relatively expensive: with a beer and a glass of wine, you would pay easily EUR 60 for a warm but simple dinner for two. Breakfast is EUR 14 (note making sandwiches is not detested but encouraged!). This is on par with any city in the EU. But again: you are in the mountains, there is no restaurant in sight and the food is good. We happily on both evenings of our stay and had breakfast. So if you know what you are in for, you'll be happy I think.

Verified reviewThe property is absolutely excellent if you want to explore Velika Planina. It's, literally, below the cable car that takes you there. It's a mixture of campsite (if you have your own vehicle or tent), hotel and hostel. We stayed in the "hostel" part so rooms are a bit tighter in size and there is a shared bathroom (and you rent the towel, just for the record) but it's comfortable and convenient (if you're very tall, watch out, as the roof is slanted). The owners were beyond kind and accommodating. They helped us in everything, were extremely helpful with the food choices (the restaurant is superb and us, being veggies, had a great array of options for dinner). Eveyone is exceedingly nice and gentle, so we truly felt at home. We live in UAE and, as they saw we were coming from Middle East, they even left a message in Arabic to welcome us (we found this very sweet). We only wished we had stayed longer. It was awesome!
As mentioned, the rooms were not massive, but it was what we expected and we were not dissapointed, so nothing to note here.

Verified reviewExcellent location and views, very nice garden area to chill and great children equipments
It is named as a guest house but the towels are not supplied. The rooms are very small (you can even barely leave your suitcase open). The restaurant value for money is not very good, overall the price is pretty high for the service compared to all the other places we went since the beginning of our trip

The walls are really thin which is okay unless there are kids in the next room…

Verified reviewKraljev Hrib is the most beautiful place with warm and beautiful people! The best spot to enjoy the gorgeous nature, good food, to breathe and relax. We had two small but very cozy rooms with shared bathrooms at the hostel. We were a bit sceptical beforehand as to the shared bathrooms. But they were very clean and we felt very much at home. The hosts do everything to make you feel at home. Special thanks to Miša!!! The area is great to do hikes of all levels of diffculty. We very much recommend this place.
